I was at Camp Jeep at Road America and rode the track with a professional driver in the SRT8. Up to 125 mph on track taking some turns at 90 mph. That is one sweet vehicle
I should have said haul butt package that was affordable Hemi MDS. The SRT-8 for me is not worth it, the amount of driving I do on dirt roads in vermont it would be a shame to take a nice truck like that through it.
Oh, I forgot the best part is that the VW Passat (aka POS) is gone Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Prior to getting back into IT I worked for an event production company. We did a DC show at the the Pontiac HQ. SRT-10 at 120-ish around a banked corners and taking it easy. If you worked for these guys, the pro driver sat shutgun
82 CJ5 chevy v8, turbo350, np205, I shortened a 9inch and built a Currie high pinion 9 rear with a true track and 4. 56 gears then I shortened a full size Dana 44 for the front and did a Eaton e-locker and high steer. Home made cage and bumpers. Custom off set wheel with Staun beadlocks[/IMG]#ad
Tow ride is a 83 Chevy crewcab stretched 24 inches and home made flatbed. I them put a 95 cummins and auto in it. I put the jeep on back the hook up to our trailer, this makes me 55ft long and in the 19000 range. [/IMG]#ad
Mines a 1960 CJ5 and large part of the reason I bought my truck ( so I could it of course, it does maybe 55 on the highway). Has the original 134 f-head motor and t-90 trans. Has a 6000$# warn winch, detroit in the rear limiited up front. Air, 33-12:50s, and the warn full floater for towing.
And has been over many trail where I've heard ( oh, you need 35s this that and the other) and driven by broken rigs (stopped to help yes, if I could) and done quite well.
I have the tape to prove it going over the dusy if you doubt me.
I recently sold a '74 CJ5 with a 401 and 4" lift. Now I'm in the process of building a '99 TJ with a 4bt,nv4500, atlas transfer case and a pair of Dana 60 high pinions. That might take a while though(just getting started). My daily driver is a '99TJ Sport that's pretty much stock(saving money for the one I'm building). Since 1980 I've owned a '72 CJ5, '74 CJ5, two '79 CJ5's, '80 CJ5,'72 Jeep Commando, '78 CJ7, '86 CJ7, and a couple of parts Jeeps. I was out of the 4 wheeling hobby for about 10 years, but now I'm getting back into it pretty hard.
Ive got a 1980 cj7 with a pumped 350 v8 and turbo 350 trans. 33x15. 50 super swamper tsl. beat to hell but something to play in the mud with so i dont have to beat the crap out of my dodge.
I realize I"m preaching to the choir here, but jeeps are more about the driver than the gear. My jeep, with 28"tires and nothing else made it over the barrett lake trail. I keep improving it, but the driver makes the most diff of all. I'll never forget following a brand new rubicon edition tj over the fordyce trail. Idiot got stuck constantly. i'm not the only one who wanted to drive his rig over the tough spots.
