Off Roading To Jeep owners

Competition DHRA drags, Woodburn Or., Aug.2!!

I was not naming you, that is called correct grammar, the " 's " shows ownership, so it is, "a sled puller's way of thinking".

Let me help you out grammer boy. It should be " sled pullers' " and " drag racers' "

I often wonder if the Texas and Cali boys made it past the second grade.

 :-laf

John,

You are quick, but still lacking. "A sled puller's thoughts. " Notice that sled puller is singular, not plural. If it were more then one I would have said, "Sled Pullers' don't like losing. " ;)

Jim,

Because of an accident at a tractor pull last week or week before, some one died. :(

Andrew

Read your original post.

Back to the topic, I think there is something way more exciting about a fast or good pulling truck when they won't open the hood. Gives all the rumors a chance to get flying.

When you capitilize it, thats what changes it.

Jim,

A flywheel came apart in a tractor, cut it half, and killed a spectator.

Andrew, insurance costs went up enough this year, almost to the breaking point for small clubs, with no serious accidents or deaths EVER in the sport, that I know of.

This could very well finish the sport as we know it, period.

Gene,

That is just too bad. Of all the years that there hasn't been an accident, and now this one time will kill the sport? I hope that's not the case, I LOVE watching those trucks, just too much of a good thing to let die after one bad accident that probly could have been avoided in the first place. :(

Those you pups won't remember this but that very thing happened in Fort Worth TX. back when I was a kid, a multi-engine tractor's clutch came apart and into the crowd injuring something like 14 people.

Jim

Insurance costs now are strangling the small clubs, and small fairs won't keep paying more and more for a pull.

It won't take much to fold a bunch of them, something which one particular large org. has been trying to do for several years.

I think the thing to do would be to convience the smaller clubs to pull together, and put on one large pull, and contunie to do so untill they are a larger pull.

At the same time, it takes people who truly love it, to see what is happening, and convience your brotheren to see the big picture, and help out.

I hope things get better Gene.

The guy who finally negotiates middle east peace, would have to be hired.

The Diesels guys don't argue at all, compared to the older classes, they will have to wake up soon, and quit bickering, pull together.

Prince Performance Diesels back for more and stronger than ever. We are out of Corpus Christi, Texas at 361-985-1673. This truck is still a stock dually not stripped down in anyway. It weighed in at the track at 6600 lbs. and is a very good street truck. This ‘97, 3500 is equipped with a 5 speed and a 3. 54 stock rear end. The clutch is a twin disk by Enterprise Engine Performance. The engine was designed by Jeff Prince and Keating Shelley. It was built by Keating Machine Inc. The cam was a special billet grind developed in conjunction with Enterprise Engine Performance. The pistons are specially designed by Prince Performance Diesels and Keating Machine Inc. A prototype twin turbo set up by Prince Performance Diesels and Keating Machine Inc. was used. Also, many other various billet parts in and on the motor call for details. The same injection pump used for the last four years (from Enterprise Engine Performance) has had a few extra modifications. The injectors are specially built for Prince Performance Diesels.

At the track the only difference from the street is a set of 32X14X15 slicks. This truck ran a best time of 12. 0 at 119. 8 mph with a 60 foot time of 2. 3 seconds; 1/8 mile time of 7. 9 seconds at 97 mph. This was done launching in 3rd gear. After running four passes I realized I would not be able to yield the 60 foot time of 1. 8 seconds like I used to get when launching in 2nd gear. The damage to the clutch had been done. I will be back at the track soon to try launching in 2nd gear which should yield a mid 11 second pass. This truck runs on #2 diesel only, no nitrous or propane.

Welcome Jeff!! Mark showed up at my house Sunday grinning from ear to ear :D . You guys are making my checkbook edgy, to bad there is nothing in it at the moment   .

Based on my ride in his truck, you guys have the twin package pretty much WORKING like a charm.

JLPRINCE:

That truck is nothing short of amazing. VERY sweet running rig... no matter how you look at it.

What kind of boost #'s are you running?

I'm thinking at least 90psi - to burn all that fuel and still not smoke the track out too bad.....

Matt

I agree Matt. Simply awesome. He must be around 800hp to the wheels...

This is getting fun watching all of the trucks bust through the 12's on their way to 11's. :D

Life at the top of diesel drag racing performance is getting crowded for the Detroit Diesel powered guys.

I am not in the minority of people who want to show those guys what a I-6 Cummins can do... .

Someone go 9's... . soon! :)

Matt

I heard the ford is after me. Well I also had a friend at the track Wednesday night when it ran a 12. 6 which at one time would have run with Joe. But my truck should greatly improve by just launching in 2nd gear. As for Joe you'll just have to wait and see. We plan to be at the next clash of titans event at the end of August. I hope to see enough fast trucks to run heads up.
