Do You Wave At Other Rams?

Lawsuit filed against DC

Yes, it's true, there are a lot of people who "feel" that Bush stole the election. Those who don't decide facts on emotions know he didn't. I guess the whole point here, is that it's long past time we Americans quite deciding our future on emotions, like the Europeans have done, and started making some hardball rational decisions. We have to enforce our laws, restore the concept of "rights" to mean inviolable standards that everyone can depend on to protect them, and a government concerned iwth real rights, not political favors like handing out checks or goodies to whatever group happens to be in political favor.

As a nation we are rapidly losing focus of anything important, while supposed leaders dash around playing infantile games, and hordes of blind partisans follow. Everywhere on tv are the "Bush's tax breaks for the rich" crowd, who rant on without being excoriated in the press for telling one of the most idiotic lies ever to be committed to media.

Further, the notion that politicians are universally corrupt, ergo it doesn't matter who's elected, is totally self-defeating to even the concept of self-government. While I will agree that the prospect of wielding power and spending someone else's money carries a great attraction... no, let me use a different word... temptation, so no matter what political party achieves sufficient influence as to get a lot of people elected to office, it will contain those who seek nothing other than what they can get for themselves. In other words, if a third party makes it to prominence, tehy will be no more or less corrupt than the parties there now.

Place 20 dollar bills upon the counters of a local department store, and certainly, they will slowly disappear. Put great temptation in the hands of any group, and a limited number of people WILL fall for it. So, what is the solution? A system of governance by laws, not people, and a removal of the very thing that attracts the less than upright and upstanding types to political office --- The ability to spend our money to buy us things that will get them our votes.

As to why I slam Democrats so badly... Democrats play the game of utterly corrupt politics... "Vote for us, and we'll give you blah, blah-blah, blahhh, blah, more blah, and blablah, paid for by someone else who's rich enough we can steal thier money justifiably". Democrats have not offered anything else in at least 2 decades. It is, in my estimation, the very defintion of corruption, and certainly, the destruction of republican (not hte party, the concept) rule.

And yet, I cannot possibly join up with the Libertarians, who keep insisting that laws cannot reflect a standard of morality in thier construction and wording. That game is a lie from the start, because no matter WHAT laws we write, they are going to be based upon SOMEBODY'S version of right and wrong. Even the notion of individual protection from misuse by another (theft, for instance) is still a reflection of a morality standard that says such behavior should be punished. We simply cannot write laws in the abstract that don't rely on a subjective concept of right and wrong - or, more simply, good and evil. If we persue that road, eventually, the contortions of justifications will eventually result in neither justice NOR the rule of law - mostly, anarchy.

I tried for years to be diplomatic, to soft-pedal what I considered to be blatant wrong being perpetrated by the left. No more. They took off the gloves first, not me. I got tired of being called "racist", "uncaring", "fascist", "selfish", "greedy", and a whole universe of terms of evil and hate directed at me, for merely disagreeing with liberals over what is a legitemate role of JUST the federal government. After living with that this long, I just call it what it is... HATE. Like a 7 year old kid who finds that reason and logic and good judgement will never be on his side, he simply throws a temper tantrum of rage at discovering to his own embarassment, that his ideas simply aren't worth the paper upon which he's committed them.

I think you missed the point. The problem wasnt his zipper, it was purgery under oath.
I agree that politics is a "corrupt" business, or at least it is now, but I think Bush would do "better" for our country than Gore would.
I myself would have liked to see Buchannan and or Keyes as Prez, so I actually see Bush as too liberal. #ad
