:eek: I just got my trans fluid flushed and filled with amsoil (25K) Now when i take off from a light, or coast to a light it sounds like a siren or a jet plane is coming from my trans area, its like a whining noise, anyone know what this is? BTW, my mechanic, first hooked up the trans fluid exchanger to the power steering cooler lines. NIce Huh???

Did he remove all the ATF from the power steering system and replace it with power steering fluid, they dont use ATF in the power steering system

The Power steering is Humming,Start vehicle Turn wheel all the way to the left than to the Right 10 times turn vehicle off for 10 minutes the air in the power steering will be gone.

ATF+4 goes in the P/S, no big deal at all. If any damaged happened it was to his flush machine due the the higher p/s pump pressure vs the trans pump.

I think that he used atf in the ps pump, but the noise sounds like it is coming from the trans area, under the truck. I can hear it when i let off the throttle coming to a light. :{

eliminate the power steering pump first. ATF+4 is a good lube for the pump. Once you get air in the steering pump its hard to remove it without following the steps above.

I have the same noise, more pronounced when cold, and it has done it since new. Nothing broken yet at 21,000 miles. Dealer has it noted in service records just in case. It is getting loud enough now with the really cold weather we have been having that I am going to take it back in.

if he toasted the trans pump, they will whine like a jet just like yours. listen with a piece of hose next to the TC while running

Ditto on this. I've seen ( and heard) it many times. I'd have it checked sooner rather then later.
