got to give a big hand to JetPilot(Doug) and his win at Muncie---the ol' BullyDog powered truck did some talking ---heard 12. 42--WOW--way to go Doug---chris
I believe it was with the B1 bomber turbo only--no twins--I could be wrong, but we were talking early last week and it didn't sound like he had enuff time to get the twins installed---chris
For those who missed it, he not only won but on the way he took out every contender on his way.
1st round - Southern Truck Parts drag truck. Doug ran 12. 41 vs. 12. 51
2nd round - Southern Truck Parts Cummins powered Dakota. Can't remember the times.
3rd round - bye run
4th round - Jim Fuller (CMNNTSTRKN). I believe Doug out ran him by over 1 second.
I believe his fastest pass was 12. 26 @ 118mph. :--)
Also big congrats go out to Dan Jeffreys(DanandMe) on winning his class. He sand bagged us, talking like he didn't know what he was doing. Oh well it worked.
WTG Doug, it was exciting to watch you run down the drag truck... ... BTW did you shut the a/c off or leave it on during the run? Oh and what CD were you listening to during that race, I may need a to go buy that one... ...
Doug, way to go ! Kinda makes up for not getting to see you run at Maryland. I did see two of your runs at Muncie, but had to leave early to make the night shift at work.
It was great to do some wrenching on John Jr. 's truck with you, and generally hang out.
I keep wondering how you got that big 'ol trophy home? I didn't think it'd fit in the cab!
I had such a great time this weekend! One of the neat things about this weekend is I drove from PA to Muncie raced and drove home. I made 12 hard passes on Sunday and everything stayed together.
This was my first time ever to race so I had a lot to learn and try to remember. I want to thank Stefan for all his help in schooling me before and during the race.
The best pass was during dial-in and it was 12. 26 @ 118. The best pass during the race was 12. 41 @ 116. Both of these passes were with the drugs on. Now on #2 alone the best was 13. 26 @ 105. Best R/T . 569 and best 60' was 1. 856.
A big round of thanks goes to DTT for getting the power to the ground and to Bully Dog and Piers Diesel Research for helping to make the power.
Jet Pilot has one sweet bad a$$ ride. Unbelievable to see a full bodied truck run that fast. :--) Traction problems WITH a 4wheel lauch... ... . awesome.
Jeff (STP Drag truck) had a 11. 7 pass during time trials but the factory torque converter blew lockup so it was fluid drive the rest of the day. That is racing.
It was fun to get out there in my 12v. First time in the 1/4 with it and I was able to get one pass at 14. 8 with serious traction issues. I was too far from home to try a 4-wheel launch but I'll give it a try this week.
Eric - Once again, a fine time was had by all. I figured last year would be hard to beat but you did it. It was also great to see the difference in times from last year. Looks like folks found LOTS of HP.
Congrats to all of those that took home the money and trophy's.
Congratulations! We were told that you had just installed a propane system (Bullydog) but that you hadn't had time to get it set up before the drags on Sunday. I'd like to see what you'd get if you added that to the mix! :--)
Yup just got it actually in and working while at Muncie. I didn't want to run everything until I had some time to tune with it. I also have a bad defueling problem in 1st, but once I get that fixed things should run good.
