Does someone have a good source and low price for right angle swivel fittings to work on the BMK-15 by-pass units?

I'm not looking for the AN type, this is for the stock setup, just know that I should be able to get the fittings for less than $25 bucks.

Thanks

Your local hydraulic supply house. If you are in the sticks check your local farming implement dealer or heavy equipment dealer.

Know full well that they ARE expensive, expect to pay @$5 for ONE #4JICx#4NPT male male straight fitting.

I have some of that stuff laying around, shoot me a list of what you are looking for.

When I asked my hydraulic fitting supplier why the fittings were so expensive even when they were just common plumbing fittings he replied, "They're made out of hydraulic steel. "

Was this guy pulling my leg, anyone else heard of hydraulic steel?

Hydraulic Steel?

Last time I checked, JIC fittings were just made out of 12L14 leaded carbon steel. Just cheap, free cutting steel.

Bill, it depends on what you get. There are common steel fittings that are good to ~1000 psi or so depending on size etc, and high pressure fittings that are made of a special steel with special heat treat and annealing processes that are good to ~5000 PSI. There are also other coatings applied that vary the mix a little more.

The high pressure fittings are SPENDY, but you will not have a leak or a failure with them... ... ... .
