Poll ???

Besides my own trucks I used the Jig on 23 other trucks.

According to the "POLL" that only counts as one???

CPFF

Seems as though I caused a bit of a stir... . what else is new?

I'm thinking the CPFF jig is the way to go after reading all of this... . and this is exactly what I intended to have happen... . I wanted everyone to say which they like and why.

Matt

Tab for me!

Guys, I voted for the tab method. Why, b/c I was one of the "lucky ones", the KDP came all the way out made its way around the case and cover and ended up in the oil pan (hopefully). I bought a new cover gasket, seal and dowel pin and installed.

If I would of Jigged it, I never would of known the pin was actually gone! And the bolt next to the pin was finger tight, I put on a socket with extension and it came right out by hand.

Just my experiences--

Thanks for all who helped me get this done (lots of emails and PM's)

I hate when you guys do this. I just jigged mine two weeks ago, and now I gotta worry about bolts coming loose and falling out?

I guess if it don't leak oil from behind the front gear case I oughtta just leave it be... .....

Where do you stop with worrying about loose bolts? I guess if you really want to get into it you should pull the engine so you can drop the oil pan and check that the bolts holding the oil pump on are tight...

I would be surprised if it could fall out. Maybe someone doing the tab fix could check and see if it can come out far enough with the front cover on. I think probably it can only come out far enough to let the tab rotate, freeing the KDP before being stopped by the front cover. All the more reason to do the jig fix right Bill?. :D

JUST KIDDING!:D :D I really don't know if it will come out, I doubt it. Someone else will have to check that since I'm not going to pull mine down to find out.

Sheesh, what a worthless bunch of drivel I just posted. . Sorry.
