After looking at them I decided wth, why not, I hate theives. If they stop them or just slow them down some its worth it.

The instructions that come with the product are good, but.



Tools needed:

Torx #40, #2 &#3 philips,1/4" drive ratchet w/6" ext. 10mm & 5/16" deep sockets, razor knife and small flexiable magnet*.



Front Doors are the easiest, if you have a quad cab, rear doors take 3x as long.

#1. Remove handle using torx or the 10mm deep socket. Do not remove the screw from the handle. Handle will come off without taking screw all the way out, less change of dropping it into the door.

#2. Remove 4 philips head screws 2ea #2 & 2ea #3.

#3. Just lift straight up on the panel. Panel is very easy to remove. NO christmas tree thingies!!!!

#4. Pull panel out just enough to remove the electrical connectors by depressing the small release lever. This is the hardest part cause you can not see them and the levers are very small.

#5. Pull moisture barrier away starting at lock and cut the gooey stuff with razor knife. The MB has to be low enough to get your hand into the large opening.

#6. Remove the back nut, 5/16", on handle, install jimmi plate, reinstall nut. DO NOT over tighten.

#7. Reinstall moisture barrier starting at bottom and work up, on top, from hinge to door lock. The gooey stuff will adhere to the door and itself.

#8. Reinstalling door panel. HINT it is easier if you remove the plastic door knob cover on panel. Reconnect electrical connectors.

#9. Align the door panel with door slots and push in and firmly down. Sort of snaps into place.

#10. Reinstall screws, door handle and plastic knob cover.

Done!!

*The small flexiable magnet is if you drop the door handle nut into the void. :{

Nice writeup, Crabman! I just installed my JJ's as well, and it went easier than I expected. For me the rear doors went just as fast as the front, but maybe I was lucky. I did lift up on the outer handle while hooking the plate, which may have helped. I also used some threadlocker when reinstalling the nut just to make sure the plates stay put and don't vibrate loose.

Those plates are a GREAT idea. The installation looks easy too. Think I'll get a couple sets for my truck too. I like the idea of the label - suppose it really would make a difference to let the thieves know in advance? Maybe so, at least tells them it's not worth their time - move on. Think I'll put my NRA labels right next to them, if one is not a deterrent maybe the other wil be!
