Job change advice needed!

I am possibly looking at changing jobs. Well, changing the specific type of job, general type of job the same, and within the company.



I am looking for possible job openings at the company aircraft hangar that should be done with construction in March 05.



I work in the maintenance shop in the museum (owned by the larger company) and would like to get my foot in the door in the aviation department.



One of the souz chefs that worked here went on to become a flight attendant in the aviation dept and when I spoke to her at the holiday party she told me what I should do if I was still interested.



She told me to email (inter-company email) the lead pilot in the department and ask if there were any positions available to be filled in the spring of 05.



Now, that's not hard to do. I just want to grab the oppurtunity when it comes, and not seem too desperate, nor seem like I just want to leave the museum.



I am valuable to the company here, and hate to leave them hanging, but like I said, have to do what's best for me!



Any help or advice would be appreciated!



By the way, I chose my apartment I live in now due to being across the street from the museum, and by changing jobs to the hangar all I will be doing is taking a job a couple blocks up the road in the other direction and still be able to ride my bike!

What company do you work for? I know a lot of people at Centennial.

I work at The Wildlife Experience Museum (Lincoln Avenue and Peoria St. ) who is owned by Dave and Gail Liniger, which own Re/Max International.



This would be Dave's personal and business hangar. The hangar is being built a 1/4 mile north of E-470 on Peoria, on the SE corner of 17L/35R. I can't remember the road name, but it's N of 470 and south of County Line, which is the entrance to Signature Air.



I do know Dave, have spoken with him numerous times, but not really on his friend list since I kind of stay in the shadows

Go with your gut! At the tender age of 29 I left the heavy equipment repair field and went into the electrical field. I got my contractors license at 33. I'm now comfortably settled in at a municipality as the lead electrican. The pay is OK but the retirement benifits are GREAT! Money is easy to make, fixed and sold two houses this year, a job you can go to and enjoy is worth more.



Your current employer will wish you luck and find the next invaluable employee. Three of my former employees are now contractors. They were critical to certain phases of my business but everyone was "replaced". I had fun and heartaches over my decesion in the "change" but I am now happy and not working 65+ hours a week.



I don't know how old you are but there is so much out there. Learn every thing you can, pay attention to detail and don't settle for less to get more.
