Question about wisdom teeth

Dont forget its a diesel!!

I've lived in the Houston, TX area most of my life. I have an opportunity in Phoenix & was wondering about the differences (besides the heat).

Having lived in the Houston area as a kid and visited PHX too many times for business it is my opinion they both suck. That said, PHX is the less sucky of the two for a variety of reasons.

Frankly, it would take a boatload of money to get me to move to either place.

YMMV,

Brian

I don't actually live in Houston, I'm southwest about 60 miles.

I couldn't handle living in town. How about the outskirts of Phoenix?

Do they have emmisions testing?

I don't know about emissions testing in the PHX area. Traffic sucked so if you're gonna be working in town keep that in mind.

My uncle lives in Peoria... ... says the traffic is horrendous, the taxes are insane, and if he had a choice he wouldn't be there.

The company put him there so he's kinda stuck for the next 7 years until retirement.

His advice is only move there if the opportunity is too good to pass up, or you love traffic, congestion, crime, and heat. :-laf

I can't speak to Phoenix, but I'm liking Tucson more and more the longer I live here. That being said, I sure do miss Colorado in the summer.

Compared to any other city of 2 million people, Phoenix is pretty good. I also live in the burbs, Peoria, and traffic is actually much better than any other big city (except for Bell Rd). Property taxes are not bad either. Tags for your truck will hurt and we do have emmissions testing (easy to pass). My boss is moving from Houston and said traffic is MUCH worse there.

I've never seen 118* AND 58% humidity EVER! Yesterday it was 112* and humidity at 30%. Nights can be a bit muggy as the low last night was around 90*.

Todd I think he meant the dew point was 57F . . . that comes out to a heat index of 118 and 14% RH.

The 112F and 30% you had does shoot the HI all the way up to 127F!

The higher humidity in AZ are only duriing the monsoon season for about 6 weeks during mid summer. Usually, the monsoons tend to cool the temps down a bit, so it's not all that bad.

Phoenix. Both at the same time. At work we have a true conductor thermometer to sag wire that read 118*. It's not the thermometer that's hidden in the shade at Sky Harbor, it's actual outside temperature that people have to work in. We also have a Reed K6020 digital temperature and humidity meter that read 118* and 58% humidity.

But I guess our equipment must be wrong because some of you have never seen those conditions here.

I can't imagine how HOT that must be. I remember working outside the day it hit 122* about 10 years ago. The work vehicle I drove at the time had no air conditioning!

All of our equipment has AC, but it doesn't do any good when you spend 10 hours a day in someones back yard working on power poles. It always seems to be on the day the homeowner irrigates their yard too.

Man, that would be a bummer!! That reminds me of the time my dad decided to take a road trip to Guyamas Mexico in July, in our '73 Duster with black vinyl interior, and no AC of course. With 6 in of us in the car and all our junk it was a bit miserable!

I hope my AC works good this weekend, the forecast for Eastern Washington is 106-110 Saturday and 108-112 Sunday :{
