Parents: Daycare vs. Home-Care vs. "Nanny"

Ok, so here goes:

I work part time for US Smokeless Tobacco Company, and have been employed since July of 2004. I just got my first raise, . 50 cents back in december or january. . I got my GF on in October of 2005, and she started at what I got a raise to. . I just recently noticed that my raise was docked, and I am back at what I started at. . She now makes $1. 50 more than me, and the boss in charge told me tough luck.

My question is this:

Can I do anything since he took my raise away without notifying me?? Is there anything that can be done to get him in trouble for doing what he did??

I am friends with the president of company, who sees over our division, and I am tempted to let him in on all this. . I do not think it is right, and something needs to be done. .

Please chime in and let me know if I can do anything about this.

Ask the president a hypothetical question. "Suppose a girl hired on here parttime. After 2-1/2 years, she got a $0. 50/hr raise. A year after she started, she got her boyfriend to hire on. The friend start at $0. 50/hr more. After three years, her raise was docked and she is back to where she started. Meanwhile, her friend is now making $1. 50/hr more. " Ask him if that's typical for equivalent job performance at USTC. And ask him if that could be construed as sexual discrimination.

But do be sure he knows you are speaking hypothetically. If he's 'tuned in', he might ask a pointed question or two in return, which you, of course, would answer truthfully. And if he's really tuned in, he'll have some research done. If that's happening to more than just you two, and it'll show up in payroll and turnover. If it's just the two of you, you might just be SOL. If the boss don't like you for any or no reason, he'll make you miserable until you leave.
