poor power pulling a trailer

I just joined TDR last week and ordered a new 3500 SLT, 4X2, LWB, 48RE, anti-spin, 3. 73 on Jan 7th.

I have really enjoyed reading all the threads the past couple of months & can say I have learned a lot. There is really a wealth of information here. I don't claim to know too much about trucks but maybe I will be able to add something from my experience with my new truck. I am really happy to be part of a great group.

Welcome Big Rig. You can learn stuff pretty quickly on here. There's a lot of sharp people with some good ideas. Enjoy the new ride.

YOUR GOING TO LIKE THAT NEW TRUCK

Big rig,I owned a chevy 2002,before buying my new ram 2004 H. O. 2500 4X4,slt. This is a very nice truck, good ride, good mileage, all around nice truck. I have about 2000 miles on mine. No regrets. coobie. :) :) :)

Dealer report

The dealer called Wednesday to report that my new truck(3500) is on a railroad car headed for the dealership. I found out they are built in Mexico. Didn't know that. The 1500 is built in St. Louis. I wonder if the Cummins are built here & shipped to Mexico to be put in the trucks or if the Cummins itself is built in Mexico.

I figure almost 1800 miles of track to get here. Average 40 mph, 12 hrs a day & maybe should be here on Monday. We are going to get some really cold weather so I hope they put some good fuel in it at the factory that won't gel. I guess my first stop ought to be to put some good fuel in the tank. I have been looking for some anti-gel additive but I haven't found any yet. I am hoping the auto parts store down the street might have it. That is my project for today. The excitement is building.

You got to watch this place. You start hanging around and the next thing you know your sucked in, big time. :)

I'm surprised they don't offer the first TDR mag free. You know "the first ones free" routine.

Welcome aboard, hang on, and did you bring an opinion with you? Oo.

Big rig, did you go through Sunflower ? I am not to far from you and ordered a truck from them on 1/13. I have been looking for fuel sold close to the house and was real surprised when I found several places. Waterway @ College across from JOCO, Standard @ 151st and Overland Parkway and Texico @ 199th and Overland Parkway. The truck stop by the Great Mall sells a lot of fuel. I sure you know of more in your area. All the station just put new signs out last summer so I don't remember the new names.

Diesel fuel stations

Thanks opjohnny for the locations of diesel fuel. I was out checking on that today. I was going over to the Great Mall to check it out also but you did it for me. I may go out there anyway & talk to them about their fuel. Never having purchased diesel before, I want to know all I can about it, especially the anti-gel properties. That should be a pretty good place since they go through a lot of fuel in a day.

Yep, I ordered mine from Sunflower. They told me 4 to 6 weeks so I was really surprised when they called me at 2 weeks exactly & said it was on the train headed for KC. I checked your profile & didn't see anything on what you ordered. Let us know what you are getting. Thanks again for the info.

Heck I was in such a hurry. We are looking for a bigger camper so I went diesel. Pat blue, 4x4 2500 slt shortbed 6speed, light group, skids and hooks, limited slip, tow package and tow mirrors, steering wheel audio controls and all that that implies, load floor, prem cloth, fog and clearance lights, side molding (for the kids to beat the other cars with), and the rear defrost. My new brochure shows a lightly loaded Laramie "J" package I might have gone for if the price was right. Sometimes I wish I would have ordered the alloy wheels.

Truck Arrived at dealer

The dealer called late in the afternoon yesterday (30th) to say the truck had come in. Only 23 days since I ordered it. Boy, was that fast. I went over to the dealer to look it over. MAN, IS IT A "BIG RIG" !!!!!!!!! The dealer said it would be ready to pick up in 3 days (Monday). We are about to get a whopper of a snow storm this weekend & it is supposed to be winding down on Monday afternoon. I hope the roads are ok & not full of salty slush. Can't wait to get behind the wheel & light up the Cummins & listen to it purr like a Lion.

"23 days"! pashaw, spat... Why, they made me wait 70 days while I was holed up (no, I don't mean hold up :) ) 43 miles from town. Guess they just wanted me to appreciate it that much more

Just don't start making "truck noises" while you are waiting the three days. At least not when the wife or kids can hear you. :-laf
