Well, after a long search of over a year I finally found the truck I wanted.

A 2008 2500 4WD Laramie with Bucket Seats. Mineral Gray in color. As close to new condition as one can get with it being a one owner vehicle.

Just over 61k on the odometer now.

Quite impressed with the power even with the emissions B. S. on it. Even my wife who drove it when I got it home was impressed. As she mashed on the go pedal she had a grin on her face and said, "I might need one of these. " (to go fast off the line ;) )

Lie-o-meter said 20. 3 on the trip home.

I'll get some pics when I get a chance.

I do have one serious question though... I can't figure out where to find the rear end gearing. There is a white label with bar codes as well as some numbers on the passenger side of the axle. There is a number "3. 7L. "

This mean 3. 73?

Now, which intake and exhaust is best?

J/K :D

The standard gearing unless a 4. 10 is specified is 3. 73. Chances are it has 3. 73 gears.

Tell us what the engine rpm is at 70 mph in sixth OD and we can tell you.

I didn't know the differential assemblies had adhesive tags but that code probably means 3. 73:1 limited slip.

If you go to these people -- email address removed -- an ask nicely the well send you a Build Sheet on your truck. All they need to know is the VIN and they will tell you exatlly how it came out of the factory. lol

I didn't know that Chrysler would provide that. I've called a couple of times in past years asking very politely for the answer to a question and would have had better luck asking the IRS.

some trucks I've looked at I've taken the vin to the local dodge dealer and they have printed me off a build sheet and all warranty work performed at no charge, althogh I'm sure not all dealerships would do the same
