5ver hitch over bedliner

I've had issues with this controller ever since i've installed it. Probably thankfully that I haven't decided on a gooseneck yet. It seems that the cable sticks and doesn't release all of the time. In the manual it states the the controller can be mounted up to somewhere like 9" right or left of the outer cable clamp and brake pedal position. I would have to say mine is ~4". I had called the guy and he didn't know what to think, so he said to send it in. I had told him that it even sticks when the controller and the cable are in a straight line. Now I pulled it off after talking to him, and tried pulling the cable, and it seemed to be fine without it hooked up. Has anyone seen this happen before, and can anyone give me some mounting suggestions? I believe it is a mounting issue, as there is not a lot of space between the cable mount and the brake pedal, but according to the manual it is supposed to be pretty troublesome and adjustable for the location desired.

In my last 3 trucks I had the controler mounted on the face of the dash, RS of steering wheel. The cable comes out of the Jordan, goes up behind the dash and makes a loop. The mount that holds the jacket is then on top of the lower dash lip, right near the controler. No problem in all 3 trucks. The new one has adjustable pedels, and jordans brackets work great.

till i adjusted it right the plastic part that pulls on the cable would sometimes fall out of the cup just enough to hold tension and keep the brakes on a little, it would really show up if i pushed the button

Thank you!

I think that's what i'm experiencing too. Sometimes when the pedal is released, I get slack on the ball end of that bracket. Seems as if it gets worse the further the pedal goes down. Also does it when the button is pushed, acts just more sticky then compared to the release when the pedal is depressed and released.

I guess i'll have to do some more experimenting. Right now the controller is mounted with the top side of it against the lower dash, about six inches or so straight below the heater controls on the dash. And the outer cable clamp is mounted straight horizontally underneath the dash, aimed pretty much straight at the bracket on the pedal, which I mounted on the right side of the pedal. Any suggestions?

I mounted mine in the ashtray since I don't smoke and routed the cable through the back and put the clamp on in line with the brake pedal and put the bracket on the pedal arm. Wired mine using the factory harness per the labels not the colors. It was a quick install.

I had the same problem as WDixon27. Once I got the plastic cable housing secured in the gromet where it comes out of the back of the control module, I have had no problems. At first, mine would actuall pull out so far it would fall just enough to hang up on the lip at the back of the unit. I put it back where it belongs and tightened things up and have not had problems since. Mine is mounted just in front of my right knee, almost inline with the brake pedal.

Good luck. You will really like this thing once you get it all adjusted.
