Jordan Ultima 2020 brake controller

Well folks I just wanted to tell you about my experience

with Jordan Pokrinchak of Jordan research. I recently

recieved a new in the box Jordan Ultima controller as

a present and called jordan to make sure that I had all

I needed to install it. He asked for the serial number

and I gave it. He asked if I would return it for a free

upgrade. I was shocked. He said that they had refined

the controller since this one was made and would upgrade

it for me for free! I couldn't believe it. I sent it on Saturday

and he called me on Monday to say that he was going

to give me a new one. I got it and didn't even have to

pay for the shipping to me. I can't believe in this day of

lack of customer service that this happened. A BIG

thanks to Jordan at Jordan Research.

The sad thing is that you can go to most "professional" hitch shops and they have never even heard of Jordan.

We are about to buy a new brake controller for our unit, and I would like to research this unit. Does anyone have a url I can go to. With customer service like that it starts a leg up.

Jordan is outstanding!



I called him to ask about buying a brake controller to use with an electric over hydraulic set-up (Carlisle) for my boat trailer. He recommended NOT buying one of his controllers since he could not guarantee compatibility.



This is real service!



We need more businesses like that.

For what it is worth, I went to Ebay and found mine for $120 plus $6 s&h. I look forward to getting it installed, which I will do myself. I saved $20, not a fortune but every little bit helps.

Installed my Jordan Ultima controller in my new tow vehicle today. I realize the normal place to install brake controllers (and other things) is on the knee bolster panel. However, I have a phobia about installing things there after working many years in the two-way radio field and seeing the effects on legs and knees hitting things on the bolster panel during a collision.



Due to the center console on my vehicle and the need to run the control cable from the Jordan to the brake pedal arm, the installation was challenging, to say the least.



I managed to install the controller in the ash tray location by removing the interior of the ash tray and mounting the controller through a hole cut in the ash tray cover.

The shop foreman at the RV dealer I bought from, told me the Jordan is junk and Prodigy is the only good one. I tried both and that guy was dead wrong on both counts! Craig

I have a Tekonsha in my Jeep. It seems like you can only dial it in for a limited speed range. If you want it good at freeway speeds, it drags you when coming to a stop. If you dial it in at low speed, the trailer really pushes you when trying to slow down fairly quickly from freeway speed.



With the Jordan, I never have any sense of trailer pushing or pulling when braking from any speed. It worked great on a 3K single axle and works just as well on my 10K 5th wheel.

I had a thought about running the cable on the Jordan controllers and wondered if anyone had tried it. On most trucks installing the

controller in the center console creates a bit of a problem with the cable. So I thought why not bend some good old copper tubing and run the cable through it? You could even epoxy the

tube to the inside of the dash. Ideas?

It might work however, I don't know if the copper tubing would be of any advantage. The plastic tubing covering the control cable seems to serve the same purpose. The tubing is fairly stiff and naturally assumes a shape that creates large sweeping bends, unlike copper tubing.



Actually installing the cable was no problem. I just pushed it in at the controller end, fished it out at the brake pedal end, and secured it with the provided clamp near the brake pedal.

I have a Jordon 2020 over 3 years old. I emailed Jordon because of my new 600HO with moveable Pedals. He asked me to send in unit for free upgrade and returned it with new mount for moveable pedals---ZERO COST TO ME... . what a guy... Cozy the Old Fighter/U-2 Pilot...
