Well, I have installed my JRE 4" exhaust. I have noticed the decrease in egt and quicker turbo spool up, however, the sound seems to be a bit on the "airy" side. When I really stomp on her it sounds pretty good, but cruising around town it just sounds like I'm blowing hot air. I know another guy who kept his stock pipe, but removed his cat and muffler and his sounds much better. (more like the big rigs). I haven't installed my "Scotty" air yet, but hope to tonight. Overall the quality of the JRE system I believe is second to none. Any comments are welcome.

Was thinking about ordering my 4"JRE exhaust
this weekend but with all the bad post i red about hangers that dont fit and bad sound i think ill just wait and see what everyone has to say about the JRE system

I have no complaints with my Jardine fit and finish OK after having on a few days my bd 4" exhaust brake came in and had to remove and weld the flanges on. The only complaint or wish I should say is that if it were quiter it would suit me better, generates a deep bumble bee hummin Cummins sound at 2100-2400 rpm,as I age I like less noise in my life. But I would purchase again.

I've had JRE system for 8 months and I couldn't be happier. It is an excellent product. I still get comments on how good it sounds.

Big Wheel,

I did alot of homework and research before purchasing my 4" exhaust. I based my decision on all of the excellant posts on this site. I was deciding between the Jardine, Diesel Dynamics, & JRE. Out of all the messages I read there wasn't anything bad to say about the JRE. (until after I ordered mine) There were many people giving bad reviews on the Jardine, but there were also many people saying they loved it. I also heard Ted Jannetty was an excellant guy to work with. I called Ted and he talked to me about my truck and seemed interested in my needs. I received the system shortly after I ordered it and installed most of it myself, however, my hanger brackets were also too short and I took it to my local muffler shop to finalize the hanging. The system does do everything they say it does, I was just expecting a different sound. As far as the sound goes it is all personal preference so please do not let my comment make your decision. I would suggest listening to one in person before making the decision. I am pleased with the JRE and would probably do it again as I wasn't buying it for the sound alone.

I have installed several systems and am very opinionated on this topic.

1. Diesel Dynamics hangers are much better
than the JRE. I personally think that Ted
should redesign his hangers. I have
pictures of a hanger design that I
fabricated for two JRE systems I recently
installed. I would be happy to forward
these to anyone requesting (Including
Ted).
2. JRE Tailpipe bend is preferable to the
Diesel Dynamics. (My . 02)
3. The first JRE system installed had an
improper bend on the over the axle
pipe. Second system was OK.
4. I will be putting on a Banks system on a
truck in the near future. It looks great,
factory style hangers already welded to
the pipe.

The hangers supplied with the JRE system is my biggest "hang up". They appear to be an after thought and it sounds as if most people have ended up taking there trucks to a shop for the rear hanger install. We should all expect more for the cash we lay out for these systems.

Thank you all for your comments about your likes and dislikes of the JRE system.
I think ill look around at some different systems befor spending any money on a 4" system, then find out i have to take it to the muffler shop to get it installed.

All,
Ted Jannetty has a download of his 4" exhaust sound on his web site under downloads.

I cut the muffler and resonator of my truck and I thought it sounded horrible!
Diesel Dynamics installed their system on my truck with the big Walker muffler and a nice turn down chrome tip cheaper than Ted's do-it-yourself kit. Of course if stainless is important, by all means get Ted's kit.
I agree the last tailpipe bend on the DD system makes it hang kinda low. They raised mine and now it's just right (cut it off turned it and re-welded it). I'm not sure but I think they had their supplier fix this bend.
Mine sounds great (no way, airy) and I get lots of compliments on it.
