Well I have to say that I am very pleased with the JRE 4" exhaust. The installation took right at 2. 5 hours at a custom muffler shop due to problems. The exhaust from the turbo to the muffler was not a issue at all. The problems occured from the muffler back. It was almost impossible to use the factory hangers with the part supplied. The exhaust with the bent exit tubes installed would not allow the exhaust to run straight back. It was either on top of the drive shaft, too close to the rear leaf spring, or not straight so that the factory hangers could be used. This was by no means a easy install. I ended up having the muffler shop weld customized brackets on and well the pipe from the muffler back because the clamps would not work without throwing the muffler to far one way or the other.

It's installed now and I am please. Just not as was stated from everything that I read and researched.

Still happy though: :D

I had the same problem on my 96 ext. cab 4x4. I had to cut off the stock muffler hanger (rear one) and weld up a custom hanger. I also had to modify the rear hanger behind the axle (custom bend and welded directly to the pipe). Pretty happy with the system, sounds great.

I am sorry things didn't go as smooth as you anticipated.

I don't know where your muffler shop went wrong???

We install average 3 a week in our shop and they all fit like a glove, no modifying of any factory hangers.

I would like you to give me a call so I can try and determine where the problem is.

Thank You for the business.

Ted, I was going to send you this post, but I see that you have responded to it. When you find out what went wrong, can you post a response or a new thread? I am about ready to order a exhaust system, and would like to know if it is installer error or a some other problem. You can also e-mail me direct if you like.

Thank you. Mike.

I spoke with Ted Jannetty on the phone this morning about the JRE install. After explaining to him how the muffler shop installed the system we came to the conclusion that they did not read the instructions that I gave them. After installing the downpipe it is essential to install the double bracket for the muffler in the existing factory hanger along with the tail section so that everything will line up correctly. In my case this was not done by the muffler shop and caused the entire problem.

Just make sure who ever installs the system "READS AND FOLLOWS THE INSTRUCTIONS". If they don't it will cause problems. It will be a easy install if this is done.

Just remember the muffler double bracket is VERY VERY IMPORTANT!

Sorry to hear about your installation difficulties CConway!

I hope you didn't take it to the shop I recommended in Franklin, Tn. If so, sorry for the troubles my recommendation caused...

JRE

Sorry to hear about your problems especially after our PM back and forth and how easy I told you it was. Like I stated I had no problems and I'm not even a muffler shop. Well at least it sounds like it all worked out in the end. Hope your happy with it, I know I am. Later... ... ... . :D :)
