Looking for Diesel performance shop in Larmie, WY

I've already posted on this, for those that may not have noticed it, or stopped reading the post. July 19th in Ramsey MN (about 30 min north of Mpls/St Paul) I will be holding a Bombing and BBQ party. I will also have the KDP jig at that time. We can get as many trucks KDP'ed as possible. We will try and run it mostly Saturday, but if there are a few that don't get done we can do them sunday. I'd like to get a head count so I can start picking stuff up on sale (hamburger etc). So please either post here, or PM me. If things turn out well, and it seems there is enough interest I'll try and set up more gatherings and possibly a "local" TDR chapter.

july 19 bombing!

hi josh, i will sure try and be there, myself and brother both have ctd's. i will just be getting back from bike rally in new mex. that wk. i live in st cloud ,so not to far away, tnx for invite. denny!:D

I found something else to check while doing the dowel pin. Oil pressure sending unit.

Mine has been flakey for a few months and finally went out on Monday. I got it replaced tonight (just before the latest rain storm) and found a soggy mess. I determined it was the source of a mysterious oil loss. I've been looking for that leak 2 years.

Still planning to attend

I will be there for sure. If anyone wants to get their timing done, I will have my timing kit there too:) Let me know if you want me to bring anything(tools, food, BEER:D )

I'll be there. I don't need the KDP fix (I've done several already), but I will be in town for my wife's baby shower. So this gives my sister and I an excuse to get outta the house.

I'm also gonna try to get my neighbor there too. He needs it done. So save a spot for him too.

BTW, is there anything you need me to bring? Or do you have everything you'll need for doing this fix? Let me know.

I've never done a KDP fix before, so I'm not sure what to bring home. Basically I'm going to bring home my toolbox... minus the box. If you have done several, would you please bring the tools nessissary, and let me know what is used so I can possibly track down some more. I think we should be able to do 2 at a time in my driveway. I have a 60 gallon air compressor, and my roommate has a 45gallon air compressor. Right now I only know of a couple people that actually need the KDP fix done. If you want to do any bombing... . by all means! Just please keep the pavement marks to a minimum... ... ;)

Josh

Well, you will need the following tools:

Threadlocking compound

RTV (Ultra-Blue or Ultra-Black)

Anti-seize compund

Breaker Bar (to remove fan belt)

Box end wrenches (metric)

Sockets (metric)

Allen wrenches

Torque Wrench

Drill

Fender Cover

The kit I had came with the tap wrench, bolts, air tip, drill bit, chamfer, jig, and fixture.

That should be all the stuff you need to do the KDP fix. If you need me to bring up some stuff, I can easily do that. If someone is doing injectors or something and need special tools (like my in-lb torque wrench, barring tool, Barrel socket, etc. ) let me know.

Dont forget to post directions too.

I guess I'd like to be prepaired for anything. If you don't mind bringing your special tools, that would be great. I will post directions soon!

DIRECTIONS

Alright here we go!

From the Cities:

Find HWY10 west. Take HWY 10 through Anoka you will start to hit stop lights. At the 4th light it will be Ramsey Blvd, Take a Right (north). You will go approx 1 mile to a 4 way stop. Go straight through the stop signs. You will see a Tom Thumb on your right. AFTER the Tom Thumb there will be a turn lane for 151St Ave Nw, Take a RIGHT. Go down 2 streets to Kamacite, take a RIGHT, then take your next Immediate LEFT onto 150th. My house is the 3rd house on the right. Address is 6920 150th Ave NW, Ramsey MN 55303.

Another Detail, when 10 goes through Anoka HWY 169 joins 10. So from Anoka to Elk River they run together. If you are comming from that end of the cities, Take 169 to Anoka, and hop on 10 from there.

Anyone that needs "custom" directions let me know, I'm pretty good with the roads around the Cities, and can get you to my house from about any major road.

I'll bring my tools (including an oil sender socket). I don't have a nice small electric drill so if anyone has a nice small drill (corded are usually smaller) bring it along. I have found nice big flat pieces of cardboard are really luxurious for looking at things underneath trucks so if sombody has a couple bring them along. Good trouble lights are always a good thing to bring (Maybe someone can show me one that works).

I have a "transfer case saver" to install but I will do that in the comfort of my own garage. I would like to check out the gear case casting marks by the lower ear on the Vacuum pumps. I would also like to have someone knowledgable look at my front end components.

I should have my new leather Katzkins in so people can check those out (I hope they come out nice). I am also going to install XM radio so that might be something to check out.

Josh, let me know what you need for refreshments. I assume its ok to bring some beers. What else?

I'd bring whatever kind of liquid refreshment you'd like. Beer, pop, etc. I will have some on hand, but when it's gone it's gone... If anyone wants to bring grill-ables or chips they are welcome as well. I have XM in my truck and love it. I also have a medium sized Blue Point cordless drill. I will try and find some large cardboard pieces as well... we have a Body Shop where I work... so they have some big boxes. I have a good ammount of general front end knowlege, but not much specific to these trucks. I'll bring my big channel lock pliers home for front end checks.

I'm scheduled to work that day. How late in the afternoon will the festival be going on? I can play hooky for a couple hours if it goes past 6p. m. I don't know when I would get there? To early to say now.

Off the beaten path.

I'm waiting on conformation about a diesel pickup truck pull at the Carver county fair. It says nothing on the schedule. But at the last pull the announcer mentioned a diesel pickup truck class. I e-mailed Gueningsman automotive about the truck class. I'm hoping to hear from them soon. If so it will be on August 8th. I letting you guys know because Fords and Chevy diesels are boring to watch. Just hoping to see a Dodge kick some a$$.

Also Gueningsman has a Dyno Jet chassis dyno. If interested?

I don't really know how late it will go... as long as people want to hang out I guess. I have a bon-fire pit, so it could go well into the night.....

A good cordless drill should work fine. There's not a whole lot of drilling that needs to be done. What you will need is a compressor and a means to regulate it to about 2 psi. That is essential.

I'm probably gonna BYOS for my sister and I. She's only 17. We'll have to see what the week brings. My truck may even be down getting a new clutch (I hope not).

If you need more info. , give me a shout and I'll do the best I can (in regards to this project anyway).
