Smokin Diesels

Diesel Performance Test

This is a funny kinda day. Gett'n outa debt and lose'n the dodge. Wanted to buy a 1st generation but the $'s were outa sight. The engine is the best part of dodges package with the diesel. I found a 87 f250 6. 9 x'tended cab long bed with 56,000 orig miles for $5900. It is not turbo'd but it runs strong. Has a 4 speed manual (I will miss the 6 speed). I will always miss the Cummins,probably not the Dodge. I am impressed with the 6. 9's power but I also know it will not last as long as the Cummins. I won't be putt'n many miles on it anymore so it will work out. :cool: Good Luck and have a decent life. You guys have been great to deal with and always helpful. The ford site seems pretty good also. The GM guys are uptight, defensive and have small units as far as I can tell by visiting their site. Their tude makes me want to harrass them just to see them cry. :{

Take care Walter. Enjoy that ford, that is a smokin price!!! When the 6. 9 dies (don't get anxious, they go a long time) you can put a cummins in it!

I will try to get to Dyno days. It was interesting last year. I had a good time. If I can put a Cummins in my new old truck I feel alot better. I was told by the guys at Gillet Diesel that the 6. 9's were the best diesel ford made. It took me awhile to find this truck. It is also a 4x4. Again I want to say thanx. The 2 best things about my Ram are the TDR and the Cummins. ;)

Best of luck. You will wish you had not changed the first time you take it into the mountains. A non-turbo loses so much with alititude.

The last time I went to Tahoe I had a guy who did not want to let me by. I just did not have enough to make it around him (a good excuse to bomb). Then he would slow down after the passing lane. He did this for 4 passing lanes. Finally, we got high enough and I just walked around him. He just could not believe it.

The we were out of up hill. With the laws of physics, I go up a lot fast then I come down. The poor person was on my bumper (and his horn) all the way down to Meyers. I couldn't help but laugh.
