Is there any typical trend that would suggest rebates may be up, down or steady going into June?

It's about the end of the model year. Does that tend to push the rebates up?

Dealer lots I see seem to have about average number of trucks on them, but maybe they need to clear them out this time of year...

There is no guess. . no one knows until they release the information... went through this torture myself waiting for the right moment to buy my '05. :{

Anyone else chime in?

Can anyone chime in also, I have a 3500 DRW due in this week and trying to decide if I should wait until June 1 and take a chance on the rebate going up more or take the $3,000 now and run.

SUV sales are way down,

with the price of diesel going up, I can only expect lower sales and bigger discounts.

But hey, what do I know.

If you ordered your truck through the dealer, you usually have 5 days, after they notify you the truck is ready, to pick it up. You should get either the rebates when the order was accepted, or the new one, if it is better.

You can wait until the beginning of June and see which one you want... :D

Can you explain the 5 day pickup rule. What happens after 5 days?

I understand I get the rebate whe ordered ($1000 + $1000 financing) or when I take delivery, (May $2000 + $1000). If I wait until June I could get the $1000+$1000 or the June rebate, but the gamble is will it go up or down. I don't think I can get the May rebate unless I sign in May.

I just got my 05 home a week ago, when I ordered the rebates were at 1000 cash and 1000 fin. Then when I picked it up the rebates had gotten better so I got 2000 cash, anyway my dealer said that I will get best rebate thru out the duration. So had the rebates gone up and then back down during that time I would get the best rebate there was. Also my dealer said the if the truck came in close to the end of the month we could wait on the paper work to see what the next months rebates were.

You could be right. My scenario was for the same rebate since you ordered, with a possible change in June. Maybe you could confirm it with the dealer, but I would suspect that if you don't pick up by May, that rebate will no longer be offered. Good luck... ;)

My dad just told me last night that they are offering $5500 less than the employee price right now for the Rams. Of course, you have to know someone who gets the A-plan to get you a control number. My money is on the idea that the rebates will quite a bit better in June. jmo.

Ok, So what is the June Rebate?

Went to the dodge site and it isn't showing one! :(

Our rebates are:

Wholesale factory invoice (below window) minus $2000 regional minus $1000 trade in (if applicable) minus DSM bonus discount of $1000 for deisel trucks. This is for all stock rigs! The "5 day" rule has to do with price/rebate protection on sold order rigs only. It is to keep the dealers from filing phony sold orders to get the lower prices and or rebates.

What is the DSM rebate, or what does DSM stand for?

So the 5 day rule is that an ordered truck has to be picked up within 5 days of arrival to for price protection to apply?

Yes! This is DC's rule. We use a 3 day rule so we have some leeway from the folks that will only do things at the last minute. Also it does not mean you have to actually pick up the vehicle. As long as all paperwork is taken care of... and we do a lot through the mail... the vehicle can be delivered in the system and you can pick it up 6 months later if that is your wish. DC only wants to see an NVDR... New Vehicle Delivery Report that is electronically filed! DSM stands for Dave Smith Motors... we are the #1 DC dealer 3 years running!

This is not a Dave Smith rule... It is a Chrysler rule...

By the way... You will have to go a long way or get an unbelievable deal to beat the Dave Smith price. I'm a happy customer... :D
