Drove an 05 CTD and an rode in an 05 Liberty CRD

New truck prices

My dealer just told me DC is talking about dropping the 7/70 on the 06's. They say most people don't know they have it anyway :--) !!! My what a way to instill confidence in your company! Anybody heard this? :(

heard the same thing from my dealer yesterday. kind of funny, they release a new transmission and all of a sudden they decide to drop the 7/70 warranty. makes you feel warm and fuzzy, huh

I guess this isn't really on this thread but I glanced thru a magazine at the dealer and it was comparing the big 3. To make a long story short when they were listing all the specs at the end, they said the CTD was equipped with a 5sp auto????

not sure of the reason for them dropping it. The warranty will be the same ole 3yr/36,000 mile bumper to bumper and 100K on the motor that we had before

What is the real reasoning behind this. Also, what warranty will they have now?

hey CLAIM it is being dropped because it is not needed, and 7 out if 10 people DID NOT even know we had that warranty... Why spend the money if you do not even get the good press about it?

heck with that, I think its all marketing and money, How could you say it is not needed, but them drop it? It we never use it because our trucks are SOOOO perfect, it woudl not cost DC nothing!, duh!

and yet another insightful post

Prove me wrong then if it is not insightful, it is the best answer i've seen so far. A modern vehicle with all this wonderful technology should have at least a 70k mile warranty. All the improvements in quality control and new systems on vehicles should be trouble free for 70k miles. Why did DC stop the warranty they offer? Well simple, they don't test new products. All the buyers are ginny pigs for their junk. The G56 orders were stopped because of problems- NO testing done! Don't bring up it was used in Europe, it was not behind a cummins or in a ram. Why does the cummins engine have a 100k mile warranty? Well they overbuild their product and stand behind it. They guarantee their product will last 100k trouble free miles. And why not DC, well they are chumps. Look at the paint on the 1st and 2nd gens or better yet the rust on 2002 Dodge Ram Doors! :-laf I never see any new cars with rust and Dodge seems to excel in it. They rust quicker than the old mopar muscle cars. :-laf Look at Volvo and their million mile diesel engine warranty on big trucks. Lots of time went into testing before they put it on the market and they gaurentee their engine will last. Don't see DC doing any of that. Even trash like Kia has a 100k mile warranty. Honda and Toyota seems to build cars that last over 100k miles with ZERO problems. DC sure wants to sell cars quick but don't care if they last. Simple, they are tired of paying claims on driveline vibrations, the automatic slipper trans. It it was not for the cummins in the front, they would really be worrying. Is that more insightful for you?

You were born in 84? A little young to know anything. Quit posting and go away.

Ebottema, most people wouldn't have a problem with you if you didn't run around waving your flag about how the new stuiff is so inferior. I probably have ran more miles this past month with my 05 than you have in half a year. So don't worry about the qaulity of my new junk. The more you tallk the less you make since.

And to think, I almooooooossssttt felt sorry for you when you were whinnning about your new alcoa's being damaged.

Had you not left that bad impression on me and everyone else, you might have gotten a better response rather than "ahh just ignore that post, who cares anyway!"

Yes Griz, I was born in 84. Do i know everything? No. Does anyone of us know everything? no. Everything I said was 100% correct, until you can prove me wrong you are just whining. Plus who are you to tell me to not post and go away? You are nobody.

As for you Lmills, If that would have happened to you, I would have felt bad. I don't need anyone sympahty around here, i was not looking for any. I wanted some opinions on what you guys thought about the whole thing. I am an ebay powerseller, I have 100% postive feedback and always treat my customers to superb customer service. If that does not say something about the person I am, then I don't know. Is it my fault some rims I bought were packaged by an idiot then damaged and the seller tried to run the other way? Of course not. And what does this even have to do with this thread?

This personal bashing has got to go, I don't bash any of you guys, it is time to prove me wrong in what I said about above about the warranty. Its put up or shut up time guys. Maybe a little jealousy since I'm right? :{

3/36, 7/70 makes little difference if the dealer wont warranty the problems.

How many have replaced lift pumps because they have modified their engine (fuel box), which likely may have had zero effect upon the lift pump failing?

My brother recently had to threaten legal intervention to get a dealer to take care of a airbag issue on a Kia, Warrantee is only as good as the dealers.

You took the words right out of my mouth, jealousy is about right. Come see me in a couple years when you buy a new truck and can actually appreciate the smooth(not to mention) adjustable power. If you haven't noticed it is a growing trend that most 12 valve owners are buying the new 3rd gens and mentioning how much they like the "inferiorness" as you label it. Some don't and go back, and that's OK. Everybody has a preference.

Don't get me wrong. I love the rattle and power of the 12 valve as much as the next guy, (it's a testosterone thing) but the constant negative posts about what "junk" dodge is now building has caused problems since the first time it was mentioned. If it's just babble and you actually mean nothing by it, then I will just ignore it and lable it as something I took wrong and read too far into it.
