Kelderman 4 link air ride PHOTOS NOW

I am just about done installing a Kelderman 4 link towing air ride on the back of my 04 3500. SO FAR I am impressed with the quality and engineering of the unit. I just have to install the compressor-dryer and the level controls. Hope to be done this weekend. .

I'd like to know how this unit works with real work weights on it. How much do you haul for weight in the box? I'm at 9700# on the rear axle and top heavy and would like something that gets the rear up a little past level while loaded and have wondered if this unit would do that. I currently use air bags 1 3/8" sway bar and 3 1/2" spacers on the overload spring tips and this almost does it.

Anyone out there have this unit and use a top heavy load like a large slide in camper?

Keep us posted on the capacity.

Thanks,

I tow 100% of the time with this truck, always a GN trailer and always total weight at 22,000 to 25,000# about 3500 of that is pin weight. I had PacBrake helper air bags on the rear and on rough roads the springs would bottom out. After talking to a number of owners of class 8 semi tractors a real air ride suspension seemed to be the logical answer. I will be doing a complete test of this system, will have about 15,000 miles of towing this year.

Went on my first towing test drive today. The Kelderman system works awesome. Less road noise, less chucking, Nice NICE smooth ride. I am going on a 150 mile test tomorrow morning. .

Gonzo,

What kelderman package did you get? Did you do anything to the front or was it just for the rear? I was contemplating an air- ride suspension package. Do you have any pics ? Would you mind PM'ing me a cost of your setup?

Thanks!

drive through cali and let us know if it got rid of the bucking from I5 and hwy 99

we to about the same as you LQ maxes out about 17k and tractors are right about the same when on the flatbed

We wont be back into the San Fran area till next August. This was by far the worst roads I have ever driven. So far the suspension is working flawlessly, smooth and quiet. . I am going cross state next week and will try to post a full report. Hope it is all positive. .

I did NOT do the front air ride, mine is the towing 4 link just on the rear. .

Are you traveling with your BAT into california when you come down in august? If so let me know how it does on I5 from 580 to lower Sacramento, that stretch of 5 is pretty bad in the slow lane

Air ride photos

Here are some photos of the Kelderman air ride on my 04 3500. I just did the rear so far. . Hope this sheds some light. . Excuse the bad looking underside of my truck, I didnt have time to wax it before the photo shoot. .

any trouble with the exhaust pipe, during the install...

,

Exhaust is a MBRP 4"er and there was no interferince to install the 4 link. I did not have to disturb or move any of it. I had to take the spare tire down, remove the VERY HEAVY stock springs detatch the shocks and then start the install of the parts.
