TMTT,

Is your PE4200 run off the stock harness direct or are you using a relay triggered from that harness to power your pump?

Nate

I wired a relay. AHA! Thanks Steve, That's what does it (Refered to the ultimate VP44 thread before I got here)

Wade...

I have that TSB applied to my '99. I think it is number 18-015-00 or something like that. If anyone wants to know for sure, I can check.

One question for you Wade. On mine, when I bump the starter, but don't start the truck, the lift pump does not run at all. It has done it since the TSB was applied. Does yours do this? Makes filter changes interesting (fill the canister before attempting to start or wish you had).

Yep.

Before the I had the reflash -for intermittent stumble, the "hard start" was included with that update- the LP would cycle for a couple of seconds and swing the pressure gauge to 15-at KEY ON. Now it just barely runs and only puts 3psi or so in the system.

Today I watched the needle during cranking once and the gauge didn't move at all, but it was a quick off/on deal. I just went a double checked. I can get 3-5 psi on a quick bump. Anything more than that starts it.

Thanks for the clarification on how the lift pump is powered. I checked it out by removing the relay (fuel system relay) I mentioned before and turning the ignition switch to the on position, and the lift pump did run.

Again thanks for the accurate information.
