Just another Nitto 295 tire review/PICS

On Nitto's website they state their 295 tire is only 33. 19 tall. Unlike the BFG tire at 33. 26" tall. Those with the 605 or 606 number would be correct for the BFG but I think the Nitto is closer to the 626 number in a MILE. Its a very small diameter change but with 600 or so rev's per mile it ads up.

the electronic signs that tell your speed, it's exact.



295/17/70 is 606. This will make your speedo read . 8-1. 0mph slower then real speed. This is the factory difference as your stockers will be off that much as well.





606 - 624 is HUGE difference.

FWIW, I have mine on 626, and I am right about 1. 5 mph too fast on the speedo, BUT thats the way I want it... Just cause I seem to always be speeding, Set a little buffer in there for me.

you obviously don't abuse your tires enough, I went though my Nitto D's in about a year and 20,000 miles.



on a plus note, the 285 E's are about 1/2 done, 1 year later, but I didn't really put that many files on it, maybe 15,000? not sure (need to call discount tire. ).

man my nitto E range tires only lasted about 20,000 miles at the most. and only 10 months.

I took a gamble on my current tires after hearing some really great things from a bunch of my friends. i purchased the BFG AT KO 285/70/17 D range tires. ive got almost a year on them and about 20,000 miles, and they still look fantastic. i will probably get 40,000 out of this set. which will make me very happy. with my driving habits i have not had a set of tires last longer than 23,000 miles and those were the stockers.

Toyos open Country A/T 285/75/17 on order... .

About the same here. I replaced mine with Toyo M/Ts that are E rated. Had a lot of trouble with those. Five trips to Les Schwab and after they replaced three of the four orginals the truck doesn't shake. My fuel mileage is also down about 1-1. 5 mpg. I just feel the Nittos were a better tire, just didn't last as long as I would have liked. I need the extra weight capacity because my camper is really heavy and now that I have added a boat it is even more important. But I don't think this SRW is going to cut it for much longer. I really need a dually with more capacity than even the Dodge 3500 provides. My dream is a 5500 dually but availability may be too far away. The Ford F450 sure is looking nice.

Just took my 295's off with about 40k on them. I liked them overall. I replaced them with 285 Toyo mud terrains. When the Nittos were getting a bit worn they would not hold in mud and snow. I don't think that the TT did them any justice and I don't delude myself into thinking that the Toyo's will last longer. I just wanted a better off road tire.



Anybody here local want the Nittos for smoke shows? Come and pick them up.

Just to throw this in there, i just put nitto 305/70/17s on my 07 2500 and i love them. They look great. Changed the entire look of the truck. I am waiting for a chance to test them out in the mud.

How is the highway noise compared to what you took off? The 3970 lb rating on the 295 Toyo MT is impressive.
