Just bought '93!

Hey guys,

Just bought a '93 CTD 3/4 ton, ex. cab, auto, 4x4. Whew, took a long time to find the right one. It's got 204,000 miles on it, no dents or rust. Even managed to get one with factory bucket seats. Seems to be in top condition as the owner had the oil changed regularly around 3,500 miles, and has receipts on all repairs(pinion seal, battery, brakes, etc... ). Hardly ever towed with it so it should be on the road a while. The a/c quit working though(it has gas in it, but compressor wont run). Any idea's to lead me in the right repair direction? Has a K & N air filter. I'm not too sure about that. transmission has all those miles on it , but he kept the fluid changed on it every 25-30,000 miles. Shifts good and fluid smells right. Hope it lasts, I'll be using it for work daily. Thanks to all those who answered my questions along the way.

Congrats on the truck. As for the A/C, I'd check for fuses or a broken wire for the compressor. The compressor won't run if there isn't enough freon in it so it may be down.

Did you check the AC relay under the hood?

I went in search of a posting of mine titled, "AC Troubles" a few months back.



My AC also quit working and I found it to be the $11. 70 AC relay under the hood on the drivers side inner fender near the hood hinge.



The P/N is 04443907 if needed.

Thanks Keeno, I hope to pick the truck up tomorrow or thursday. I'll be huntin down that relay. I suppose I ought to buy a service manual.

Hey Matt. I don't know if your into hockey, but, Ray Bourque sure was fun to watch during the Cup run.
