Just bought a 2004 3500 Ctd Quad cab!!!!

I just bought my first Dodge product last night!!!! It is a 2004 Ram 3500 dually CTD with just under 9000 miles on it!!!! I haven't seen it yet, if you can believe that, but it is off a Chevy dealer in Pen. The original owner traded it and a 3/4 ton on One truck so he could have just one payment. After I told him I would buy it I read some of the negative thing about Automatics on one of the threads. I hope I didn' screw up!!!! If you guys want to see my New To Me Truck go to E-bay and search for item number 455830553. I didn't pay the buy it now price but what do you guys think???? I am supposed to pay and pick it up this coming Thursday. I told the guy I'd take it and I hate to Back out. I got the automatic because it will be my daily driver and We Have A Lot of TRAFIC in Knoxville,Tn. I payed 31,000 for it, is this a good price???? I am then, after picking the truck up Thursday or Friday going to Michigan to pick up our New To Us 30' 5er. The truck already has the rails in the bed and trailer brake and the Dealer said its ready to go. I have an old 1990 Ford F-350 7. 3 Non-Turdo diesel now that has a newer Jasper motor in it. I it has NO POWER and get only 12-13MPG. I thought about putting a turbo on it, but then was told I would have to upgrade the Automatic in it to handle the extra horses. Not to mention, the cost of the turbo and/or upgrade trans. I REALLY LIKE THE DODGES AND THE AUTOMATIC WITH THE TOW/HAUL BUTTON!!!! Am I Nutts!! (Please don't answer that) As you can tell I love to talk and am new today. I signed up last night hoping to get some advice, put, to my dimay, had to wait on my password stuff. I wouldnt worry to much about the auto. You should put a trans temp gauge in asap , change the fluid with the correct stuff every year or 25k if towing and dont beat it to hard it will last a long time. Just watch the transmission temps and enjoy the new ride .

I agree with the gauges if your going to tow, and it looks like you are a set of gauges would be a plus. If I was towing on a regular base's (nearly every day) I probably would have got a six-speed myself. Now if your going to bomb for hp either one auto or manual are going to be subject for modification IMO.
