5ver with duallie axles?!

Any Caribou Owners out ther?

Just bought a 93 International 4700 with DT360 Engine, Does not have the power of our 99 Ford F-350 with powerstroke or 2001 Dodge 3500 with cummins. Is there anything that can be done to these motors without sacrificing durability? It seems to be good mechanically and is rated at 190hp -- A little extra would be nice!

The 4700 is about twice as heavy as a pickup truck. The GVW rating is double of a pickup truck too. Also it sets up higher and there is more wind drag. It's going to be slower to get up to speed than a pickup. 190 HP is the same whether it's in a pickup truck or a 2 ton truck.

No, there's no practical way to up the HP--190 HP is the highest rating for a DTA360. If you did, it will be detrimental to the durability.

He's right... the DT360 can be tweaked and twiddled a bit, so long as it has the mechanical fuel system.

But there's no magic bullet to get a lot more power. It won't do it. From what I've heard of other's experiences, it will eventually have mechanical problems.

I suppose it's possible you could transplant a DT466 into it... that would get you about a third more power, and the reliability is decent. But, if you're going to go that far, why not switch to a Cummins B or C???
