I have a tendancy to tighten my water in fuel sensor a little too much... so it doesn't leak. I think I tightened it too much and it bottomed out and the light came on. I ground the probes back about 1/32 " and all seems fine now.

You might try the same thing.

By the way I have never seen water come out in my 5+ years with this truck. Anyone else ever find any water? Just wonderin'.

Jay

NOPE! No Water in 17+ years. GregH

5 yrs and nothing from mine either. Must be we're all lucky, 'cause I know none of us are good looking! ;) :-laf

I changed my lift pump on my 91. 5 the plunger feels much better now but the old one still primed the system. I use napa brand filters some others have been know to fail.
There are a couple of inexpensive things for you to do to your truck. The exhaust is freed up so your egt's should stay safe. Find out where your pyro is getting its temp from. Most people prefer before the turbo, I prefer after an old boy told me some of the old tips will burn off and head strait for the turbo. I think that was only a thing of the past though. I would say your pump is on the mild side by what you claim your smoke levels are. I have to take it easy on the throtle to keep the smoke down and thats with a 16 cm exhaust housing.
Good luck with it.

Super nice looking 1st gen. I'd go over that suspension with a fine tooth comb to make sure its all tight and installed good. I've seen some 'not-so-hot' 4x4 lift kit installs in my time. Especially check the steering system and flexible brake lines. Re-check the torque on the u-bolts and the also inspect the ujoints good.

thats a good idea on checking the suspension. i'd really like to remove it and install a shorter lift. somthing like 3 or 4 inch. i have to center my steering wheel. somone recommended that i can do it with the adjustable drag link. anyone know how?

i think i like this truck better then my 2006 megacab! besides the bouncy ride, this truck is a blast to drive! it has good power. i avraged 13. 35mpg around the farm last week(alot of stop and go and extended idleing) overall i'm very happy. this winter i'll be adding stacks. the currant exhaust is in ruff shape!

i was also wondering if i could put the turbo off my megacab on the 1993? i'l be reinstalling my SPS64 this fall. think i would benifit from the newer turbo?
