On some. I tabbed mine and it was okay. However, it won't hurt to check the bolts inside the case and clean the radiator. Mine was pretty gross on my 99.

Bud

Even if the dowel pin hasn't moved, the bolts holding the case to the block can loosen up and will cause catastrophic damage if one of them goes through the gears. For peace of mind, I recommend just getting the kit and doing it. It's not too tough, if you have some mechanical know how.

My 02 had the KDP so... ... do like the man says pull the rad clean it, pull the damper and timing cover and tab it. Re locktight the boltz and then you will not have to worry.

The killer dowel pin has not been an issue on the 99s. I have owned one since new and I follow all the threads and have never heard of anyone having a problem with a 99. Someone is going to come on and prove me wrong but I am used to that.

The radiators do become very oil/dirt/mud caked and you loose a lot of cooling capability. I have pulled mine off a few times and cleaned it out and every time it needed it.

[/IThe Killer dowle Pin fell out on my 02, I was "lucky" that it did not destroy things instead the dealer that I took the truck to to fix the oil leak did that for me... . ]

thanks guys pulled front cover it had the updated front cover i guess because it did not look my 96 it had a step where the kdp is at unlike my 96 but the radiator had a cracked tank replaced it and seal on vacuum pump and also yhe power steering pump it was leaking also
