Well I finally bought a real truck,



Traded in the SuperPoopy for a 2002 QC with the H. O. and Six Speed, it only has 1000 miles on it. But I 've compiled a list of add on's and questions maybe some of you cummins' veterains could help me out with. I've already added an edge EZ, K&N FIPK with outerware, Gauges and 295/75r16 on weld stonecrushers along with a Jason Extreme cap and polished stainless running boards, Anyway here's the questions 1. I'm seeing 28#of boost WOT is this normal?, 2. I'm seeing 1100*F preturbo with 7500# TT I'm asumming this should be ok? My last up grade with be a 4"system, I'm looking for something with no drone and stock db rating in cab, Any suggestion? turbo back ? or muffler/tailpipe? Thanks in advance to all that reply!

My story

First welcome, you are BOMBing very quickly. :D I have the VA box with stage 1 injectors and can only hit 1100 deg pre turbo so your temps are fine. As far as boost I can get about 33lbs with my setup, the diff could be the injectors. I do not have the six speed so can not say how long your stock clutch will last, that will have to come from others. It has been said that the 4" is not needed until you get over 300hp, but they do sound nice. YMHO
 
Your EGTs look good and the boost seems pretty normal as well. As for the exhaust, we have a 4" aluminized steel with 4" downpipe and 5" SS polished tip with has a sound level close to that or stock only deeper. We can also offer the Banks Monster exhaust in stainless steel as well.
 
Congradulation on your new truck. I also have a HO Six Speed with the Edge Comp and I see 33# of boost and 1200 degrees pre turbo. Did you have a boost elbow installed? This will also make a difference. One thing I have noticed since I started BOMBING, is that my wallet doesn't weigh as much as before. This stuff is addicting. Anyway, good luck with your new truck. Congratulations on your new truck. Feels good doesn’t it? You’ve moved fast on upgrading! It looks like most of your questions have been answered. On the exhaust note (pun intended), I bought the 4” Banks system. I posted first to ask the TDR community about it at the time. Several noted the drone that’s not bad and around 2200 rpm. I don’t know what caused the difference, but mine is around 2600 rpm on my truck. It’s most noticeable when shifting out of overdrive at about 60 mph. My effective ratio is about 3. 69 though and that makes a difference where I run as far as speed and gear. A lot of members swear by the Jardine. There is lots of search material on exhaust systems.
