The 1st 562 miles were mixed & yielded 20MPG! Now at 933 odo, a 133 mile road trip calc'd at 23.3MPG!

Gotta say I'm 2nd guessing why I didn't allow logic to guide my decision to get a "modern" Ram years earlier, to say nothing about the improved ride, etc.

Not braggin', just had to share some happy news with my TDR brethren & fellow 2018 drivers. :p

I have also been pleasantly surprised at the mileage out of my ‘18. The wife broke 20 mpg, hand calc’d, while I was out of town with and EVIC reading of 21.3. No complaints! So far this tank is telling me I’m getting around 19 to/from work.

I didn’t ever figure that a full emissions truck would be comparable to a 5.9 modded for efficiency.

On our recent trip to Yellowstone we got nearly identical numbers to the modded 05, ± .5 mpgs.

I was seeing the same thing. I drove mine 350 miles from the lot to home and got 23.5mpg. Then it started to regen. Best I've seen is 17. I can always tell by the scan gauge and the mileage - 13-14mpg, when it starts to regen.. Truck currently has 8500 miles on it. Mpg went to pot at about 2500. Also, Ive got a manual transmission so maybe its the way I drive. I do see low 20's in my 12v's, though. YMMV

I've got almost 76k miles on mine. Bone stock with OEM size tires. I've never even come close to 23mpg. Fastest I drive on an interstate is 70 mph. Short trip driving, i'm lucky to average 14-15 mpg.

Today was the first time I be been able to correlate the regen on my CTS2 to the mpg gauge. I attribute it to the rain and evaporative cooling on the exhaust. Every other regen hasn’t been quantifiable on the current mpg gauge.

With only highway driving my overhead will show 22 but when you hand calculate it's just a hair over 20 at 65 to 70 miles per hour. Towing mileage is where I'm still disappointed. It's still been averaging in the elevens with a 5000 lb travel trailer at 65 to 70. I have noticed that with the speed control on towing it is a little bit lower than if I just drive it. But it's not worth it, I tow with speed control on all the time. I have 16k on it now.

3750 miles or so on the truck now (around 1200 are mine) and i'm still averaging about 18.5 around the county. I'm still trying to determine if it has done a regen...if it has, I've never noticed.

Really love driving this truck...its a real beaut', Clark....

It has likely done 1, maybe 2, regens since you've purchased it. They really are seamless, and I've only been able to notice 1 with instant mpg of the 5 or 6 it's done since getting the CTS2.

I used to spend all my time on the ford forums and they were always complaining about regens and terrible mileage. I was always paranoid of owning a new diesel because of the regeneration process as well as the horrid stories of multi-thousand dollar fuel system replacements.

Seems this Ram is much better at regens...no regrets on purchase..... yet. ;)
