A little disapointed at the numbers. BD dyno's in drive and the boost is a lot lower then in O. D. as some #'s i've seen on the sites have shown the numbers go up in O. D.

My max boost, empty on flat ground in O. D. is 39# with a shaved washer and drive is 35# so with a 22% drive line drop in drive my #'s were 271 hp at 2680 rpm and 698. 1 ftlb at 1980 rpm. In O. D. i should have posted 305hp. When asked why they don't dyno in O. D. i was told they are limited to speed with their dyno?

To the time i left at 10:00 there was only one truck that topped that at 310 hp. Not sure of the year but it looked like a 24v. The top duro max was 255hp & the ford's top # was 265 hp.

The big boys with twins, nitris or propane are later in the day so i will make it back for those. :)

Lots of are Americian brothers at the dyno days. Will keep you posted with the big boys!!!!!!

Also went to BD Dyno Day today and got my truck on the Dyno.

Results: 220 HP @ 2780 RPM

Max Torque 478. 9 @ 1880 RPM

This is with the following modifications Bosch (PW) Injectors, 16cm2 Turbo, pump set @ 1. 4 and max RPM @ 2900. I am still running with the stock air and exhaust system.

On a previous run on the same Dyno when the truck was totally stock the readings were as follows:

Results: 157 HP @ 2480 RPM

Max Torque 362. 6 @ 2000 RPM

For the amount of money that I spent on the modifications I am quite happy with the results.

I left before the big boys got on the dyno, but a couple of dodges were getting into the 350 and 370 range. Sure some nice looking rigs.

Mark, those are awsume numbers for a first gen truck!Oo. The general consensus is about 230 HP is max for the VE pump so you are really getting up there. Good torque also. WAY TO GO!!

Maybe some of you can get to May Madness. Free dyno time at Diesel Dynamics on their Dynojet. You will see some Rams in the 600 and 700 hp range Oo.

Seen some impressive numbers later in the day at BD Dyno days. My6eatsV8's topped the day with 520hp. Would have liked to see what the real numbers would have been with out tire slippage, as Piers gained 79hp more with half a dozen guys in the back of the bed on the dyno to post a 510hp and close too 1050ftlb's.

Very impressive and lots of fun. Piers thought my 271hp and 698ftlb's were good for a first gen and a VE pump, with only $950 into the engine. So i shouldn't complain. There was a difference in the dynoing in the morning to the afternoon. In morning the tech's jumped in the trucks and gently gave them fuel. At no time did they calibrate the dyno or floor the pedel. Tech's put the trucks in drive or 4th for stand. and a quick run.

In the afternoon the trucks were calibrated at 2500rpms with a program on the dyno like they should. The owners of the trucks were the ones dynoing and they gave it in any gear they wanted. Really let it all hang out. I realize most had juice like nitris or propane and something else to add, so the tech's wouldn't know when or what gear the trucks would do best in but we small guys have just as much pride in our trucks as the big boys.

Not complaining for a free chance on the dyno as i would like to THANK BD and all the people behind the scene, as they throw a great show for all.

Some of us had more fun then others as we put on some smoke shows for the crowd. Lots of black and blue in the air and rubber on the ground. Fun for all. :D

'Mark, Alk, Otis, those are ALL good #'s for a 1st. Gen truck :D :D

Otis, geeez Louise how'd you manage 225 on a 'stock' truck???

I'm thinking one of your pump lock nuts musta rattled loose and it self-adjusted ;) ;) :p

Alk's numbers, pre-mods, is what I would expect. Nice going bud!!

'Mark you dog, looks like I gotta make a couple adjustments before I take a shot at the dyno. I was number 80 and they shut it off at 74. After all that time in line too... BUT I did get a "rain check" to go back so thats not too bad.

There is something I'm going to Pmail you about though... . ;)

BTW are any of you guys using a low stall TC or any trans. mods yet??

Way to go guys, who says 1st Gens can't turn a wheel. Heck we don't need all those 'pacemaker' things either. . ;) :p

actually my plate say's IEATV8S:D

i was only able to get 520hp becuse i had no traction. :( piers made somewhere around 430hp and then a bunch of us jumped in the back and he made 512 i think.

with a small jet of n2o i made 520hp when i turned on my lpg i made 520 then i ran a lot of n2o and made 520 i think there is a pattern here. :D last year i made 564 but i had 2klbs of trq convertor cores in the back of my truck.

it was great seeing a lot of my nw bomber buddies again, and i met a bunch of new ones.

I can't believe the numbers Jim F. did. Its really amazing to watch that little ole inline 6 rock... and the sound outta that 5" sewerpipe exhaust is enough to get ya sterile...

What kind of boost was happening at 520HP ?? Did the O-Ring job hold it all in?

Piers was no slouch either, even with a bagged clutch (as I heard it)

Nascar Mark, you sneaky little dog, I double-dog dare ya to break 300+ HP ;) ;) :p

Twist those screws and just DO IT ! ;) ;)

I'll bet, lets see..... hmmm... . a Big Mac AND Fries... ya thats it.

Bring 6 guys for the box so you get traction... it worked for Piers. .

LOL

Way to go Bud !!! Who says we ain't got it in us. .

Seemed to me to be a few more 1st gens at BD than in the past.

Mine ran at 211 hp @ 2600 rpm and 451 ftlbs of torque. Think I will play with the pump and timing next.

My wife, who rode up with me to BD, was so ashamed of the dirty condition of the truck that she washed and shined the beast on Sunday.

Looks pretty darn good now..... think I am gonna keep it. And the wife too!

Dyno Days was great! Thanks BD! I dynoed at 203hp and 421 ft/lbs. This is with a tweeked pump (inculding "power" screw), K&N, timing at 1. 31mm, and 16cm turbine housing. Does this seem to be about right? I don't think thats too bad for $210 in mods(not including boost & pyro gauges). :)
