Just got 5 new Cooper 305's. Tire guy said spare won't go between rails. It's now in the bed - I got tired of searching - I recall a post some time ago re: a "how to" on placing big spares between the rails. How about calculating mileage now (I'm no rocket scientist), I found the tire calculator so I'm about 5 mph faster than the speedo reads. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, if you need a couple of real good Steeltex 265's or a no miles Michelin stock 245 spare - check the classifieds.

Thanks.

Forgot to ask the most important thing - Tire Pressure the coop's sidewall reads max psi 50 - I got real comfortable running the firestones @ 65f & 55r. What're you guys running the coop's at.

Joe for the mileage and Speedo corrections there are calculators that will give you the info you need at 4lo.com

You can use this to calculate a percantage change.

If you want hook me up with you stock tire size, new tire size and model and I will figure it out for you.

As for the spare tire location I am interested in what you figure out. I am going to go to a full size 295 spare and it wont fit.

Not so fast fellas,

There is as a good chance that the tire guy is assuming that it wont fit. I have a used 295/75-16 BFG that has apx 25% left on it and it fits under there :D granted it has 1/8 on an inch clearance between the rails and touches the exhaust hanger on my Bullydog 4 inch exhaust. but that only holds it more secure. So climb under there and try it before you go to plan B. You might be surprised :--)

Best regards
