OK I admit it

I did take a quick look at the exterior and interior. Never drove one since I didn't think that was relevant to the new Heavy Duties.

How many of you had your dealer slip in 'Glass Etching' for only $350. 00! or Security Key for only $425. 00! And then tell you its automatically applied, but for only $125. 00 we can remove it!!!

These don't show in the price of the truck but are glossed through in the paperwork, even when paying, ordering cash...

And Documentation Fees. I had to argue for almost an hour to get the price reduced to cover for the $247. 00 Doc Fee. Which is for about 8 minutes work!!!

Thats when I asked him for another special service, tear up the deal and get out of my way, went to another dealer.

No Extras, still $79. 00 doc fee.

No shyster tricks on my deal. Dealer was 100% straight. I've heard about those sorts of extras being put on. I bet they sell a lot of add ons that way. Of course, they don't account for losing customers. I feel for you, Dieselman. Hope that is the last of the unpleasantries you have to deal with.

As soon as I hear the word "fee". I stand up, turn around and walk out. Works every time so far.

Actually it's kind of fun. I went in with my PocketPC and spreadsheet with all the calcs, and wasn't off a nickel until the out the door price took a jump.

It's kool having the bottom line, including my TTL, before the salesman does.

2nd dealer, showed him the Excel spreadsheet, entered the order, dickered on doc fee, shook hands.

I shop 150 miles from home, our only local dealer is a proven sheister, won't say what town I'm in, unless you ask, and I shoulda skipped E*******T Dodge and their fees to begin with.

The dealer I bought my 2001 from was trying to get $1500 more out of me than the dealer we bought our van from. How's that for rewarding loyalty? Of course, I'll have to drive the new truck over and visit the ol' salesman that lost the deal.
