Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) DDRP and relocate kit?

I'm looking at getting this pump, but doesnt it just bolt right into the bracket on the relo. kit? If it works up in the stock location on the side of the block, it should surely be alright on the relo. kit.

Technically I think it would bolt to the original Vulcan bracket, HOWEVER, the FASS DDRP is much heavier, and Vulcan has a new heavy duty bracket for this application, you will need to drill four holes in the frame to mount the new bracket, see my earlier thread with photos and comments. I also had some fuel line length issues, because I had custom cut both inlet and outlet hoses with NO extra slack.

I just installed it in the factoiry location the ownly problem that I had was the fuel line support braket made the line sit to high so I fip it over and it work. I will tell you this the fass DDRP is alot quieter. than the factory lift pump that I had. Oo. I don't know about psi because I don't have a gauge. hopefully some day so.

I'm seriously thinking about getting this pump myself. Instead of screwing around with a new stock pump relocated just throw this on and be done with it. Would like to hear more.

The install is straight forward, the ownly problem that I add was the fuel line support on the intake from the tank you well after to flip it 180 then run banjo bolt through in and you are good to go. Oo. I well half to to put up pics when I find time.

i may as well order one now. All this discussion about pumps jinxed mine, on the way out yesterday my f/p went down to a couple lbs, it was really cold. I shut it down, cycled the pump a few times, and the pressure went back up. This morning, same thing happened, but I couldnt get the pressure to get above 3-4 lbs. I just feathered the throttle all the way home, it did end up getting back up to 15 psi, I just hope that brief low pressure didnt screw up the VP.

Yep, pretty typical LP failure symptoms, I think all of my OEM ones went the same way. It won't get better until the pump is replaced. Hopefully the DDRP will actually make it 4 years and beyond before I see those symptoms again.

Shelby Griggs, I saw your thread with the pics, I ordered the DDRP pump with the larger bracket from Vulcan. I can see where you could run into problems using the bracket with the Carter pump with this new FASS unit. I was thinking about possible reasons for the early demise of my carter pump which has less than 20,000 miles on it. I have the Vulcan big line kit on the truck, and was wondering if my current mods really warrant the need for 1/2" lines. Is that too much volume for that small pump to keep up with? I am wondering if I should have gotten the bigger FASS 95 gph pump instead. I just was using the bigger is better mentality in regards to the fuel line, but if that is the case, I should be driving a 7. 3 powerjoke, so bigger is not always better. Oh well, I guess I will have 4 yrs to think about it with this new pump.

Mine is stock, so can't comment pump needs with mods, however, 20-40K was probably about average life for my Carter pumps, I went through several, a couple after installing the Vulcan big line kit. Somebody had the ratings posted on here for the DDRP, as I recall for moderate mods it should be fine.

Well I just ordered this pump from Genos. I'm excited about it. According to what I was told from Genos this pump can handle about 450 horse.
