Right in the middle of trying to get ready to leave next week on vacation. Seems on 94-96 trucks the wiring could overheat if you leave the blower runnning on high too long. Says it'll take about an hour to get fixed #ad
right. Of course, it's 80 miles to the nearest Dodge dealer, and it's a first come first serve basis. Last time I took my truck in I had to leave before the sun came up to get in line early enough to get the work done. I REALLY hate the idea of anybody working on my truck but me, especially the dealership.

The recall is not needed if you have the factory tow package.

Hmmmm
I got the same recall notice and I have the factory tow package.
I too hate to have anyone touch my truck. I used to work as a wrench for a living and did so in two different new vehicle dealerships and I REALLY don't want a dealer to touch it!!! All that flat rate stuff equates to how many short cuts can be taken without the customer catching on, right away anyways...

I got the recall on my '96 a long time ago and if I remember it right, it stated that it was for trucks without the trailer tow package. I know after reading it I threw it away because it didn't apply to me. I think it said take it in and they would check if you had the tow package (as if we should be so dumb)and if it didn't they would add a relay into the lighting system. I don't think anything was mentioned about any switches except for the headlights.

What # recall is it?
That is a different recall. I never got one for the ignition switch [ yet ]. The one I got a while back was for trailer and accessory light wiring. Recall # 820.

This is recall #875. It's not the headlight switch recall, this is the blower motor on high recall. Maybe we'll get lucky and #876 will be the danged plastic fittings on the transmission lines #ad
