Yesterday I posted a question and asked if anyone could tell me about DTT (Diesel Transmission Technology) and point me to their Web Site (if any). I got a reply in less than an hour. I spent the next several hours on the DTT website reading questions answers and comments concerning automatic transmissions. I am by nature a curmudgeon (some folks think thats too nice and call me much worse) --- offen as not I play the devil's advocate ---JUST BECAUSE --- most of the time I wanta be mean... I'm telling you all this cause this guy Bill Kondolay (forgive me if I mispelled the name) has got to be a great -g-g-g grandson of George Washington. He tells it like it is even if it cost him money --- I'm not sure if he's fat, skinny, democrat or republican, but he's the kinda guy ya just gotta like.
I don't want to put words in his mouth but what I think he said was what that "automatic transmissions are great gadgets, but the convience isn't free, TLC and good driving habits will make tham last longer" My fifty years of driving vehicles with and without automatic transmissions has proven that to be true. I had a lot of misgivings when I bought my "97 Ram Cummins with auto" -- so far the convience of no clutch no shift has cost me noteably more than a five speed but it's been worth the expense --- to this old man. Shifting gears and pumping clutches is for the young (or those that think that keeps them young).
Like most old f**ts I could go on and on and on and on about my life experiences and need for creature comforts, but that's not what I came here to talk about. --- What needs to be said is:
THANK YOU BILL KONDOLAY FOR TELLING IT LIKE IT IS !!! even when it takes money out of your pocket .
What do you wanta bet he makes it up in the long term and sleeps good in the short term.
