Arkansas Christmas !!

repair shops

I always go to the truck stops, they have much better fuel, it is fresher, and can pump faster. I live in utah and the flying j truck stops are the cheapest by at least 10-15 cents. So no confusionat that place. Never been tricked by the nozzels.

Sniff... Oh Yeah!

I sniff too, except at a few trusted stations. I still sniff there too but just not as much.

BTW, I sure do get some strange looks when I go to refill the firetrucks. :D

When I was in high school I had a 76 Dodge Power Wagon with a BB 400. I happened to be at the gas station putting in my $5 for the day when a cement truck filled up with gasoline. He realized what he had done when he went to pay. I knew the guy and he offered to give the mixed fuel to me. I, being a hard up kid wanting to use my gas money for beer anyway agreed, and we siphoned it over filling both tanks on the PW. It must have been about 20% diesel. The smoke was incredible, and power was down a ton. I ran out both tanks though with no bad effects that I know of. There was no way to let it idle in a parking lot, the smoke would burn your eyes and nose, it was terrible. I got about a week and a half of driving though. It was funny then, and is still funny:D

The summer before last I filled up at a station where the diesel nozzle covers were not green and while I was there a Mercedes pulled in and the guy started pumping. I didn't pay much attention but in just a few minutes he approached me and asked what I thought he should do because he had just put about 5 gallons of unleaded into his MTD! He was an older guy, successful builder type, and had his wife with him. Nice people. He said he guessed there was about 4 gallons of diesel left in his tank before he added the 5 gallons of unleaded.

I helped push the Merc into the shade and went to a nearby parts store and got a hose. We siphoned everything we could out of the tank... it just about filled 2 five-gallon buckets. Then he went and got the attendant and asked him if he wanted the two bucket fulls of "dieselgas". The guy scratched his head, looked around and went back into the station. He came back out and opened the cover for the underground unleaded storage tank and POURED BOTH BUCKETS BACK INTO THE UNLEADED STORAGE TANK. While he was doing this I looked around, and NO ONE who was pumping gas paid us the slightest attention!

Campfires, no problem, but I don't think I'd use the stuff to light my charcoal to cookout...

Hey, Steve St. Laurent, you about done lining your chimney with that mildew performance fuel you stocked up on accidentally? Bring some to our next campout.

Tom - five gallons gone, 30 left to burn! It goes a LONG way, I have fire starter fluid for next 3 or 4 years at least.
