Just how hard is it to install gauges

I don't know if I just can't bring myself to drill a brand new truck or I am just chicken.



Has anyone installed gauges (boost/egt) on a 03? Difficulty



When drilling the exhaust manifold is it easier to get at it by removing the inner fender or stand on your head over the fender?



Location of the boost?

I havent done this mod (yet) on my new truck but I do know people have been removing their intake horn and tapping for the boost gage.

Also, I heard one guy say he drilled his ex manifold w/o removing the turbo . Just used some grease and the appropriate profanity.

I was thinking that along with the appropriate verbal encouragement for my drill and grease, I would add a wife armed with a 6hp shop vac.



I see by your signature that you have Geno's wheel trim. Just wondered were you located the Cummins molding?

Not as hard as you might think. You can get a drill in there without removing anything. For the boost, use a Piers boost bolt, that replaces one of the intake manifold bolts. Works perfect.

Don't know if it works in the 03' give a call, they are very helpful.

Yes, the bolt does work in the 03. Manifold is basically the same in this regard, just pull out one of the bolts across from the fuel filter. Has to be one of the shorter bolts, just like on previous 24V's.
