Even rarer is the '98 2-wheel drive 12-valve shortbed Quad cab. I have come across two of them.

I think Jim Fulmer has one right? I also came across an identical truck to Jim's not too long ago on ebay (appearance-wise, that is!). It was really nice.

That is also the perfect truck I wanted, but had to settle for a 94' regular cab because I couldn't afford the newer one. I don't want to drive such a long truck, my bro has a QC LB truck... . seems like it's a mile long! I plan on eventually trading this one in for a 98 QC SB 5 speed 4X4 truck.

Did they make a short bed in 96-97?

Somebody tell me how rare this is... . I've seen a 98 12v 5 speed LB extended cab truck, wasn't a QC because there was no doors. I though that was quite strange for a 98, must have been a real early build!

Quad cab was actually an option. I've seen at least six 98 & 99s that are only extended cab (4X4s). My buddy has a 2wd 98 12V 5spd extended cab SB. Production #s would be cool to see though! Obviously they are more scarce then other years b/c of the half year run, but IMHO I think a lot of it is the peole who have them do NOT want to sell them so you just don't see too awfull many advertised for sale. I used to have a 98 12V QC dually, now I have two 98 12V QCs, 1 auto and 1 6-speed. So I do know they are out there...

There's usually at least 30 on there, they're not as rare as you'd think. The book value reinforces that.

Sorry, I'm thinking just 12 valve 98's, not any specific combo.

Wait a few weeks, and try again. I can't remember what it is but there is a number in the vin to tell what motor, and if it's a quad cab or extended cab.

They really are on there quite a bit, even the shortbed 5 speeds

I found mine online at a best deals on wheels website... . Just so happened it was at a local dealership.

I ONLY wanted it if it was 5-speed, tan interior, 3. 55's, and shortbed. I got exactly what I wanted, for a lot less than book.

My cousin just picked up a 98 LWB 5-speed for like 13K online, with under 100K miles...

Beg to differ with you on the Matt.

Autotrader.com does NOT differentiate between EARLY/LATE 98s, 12v/24v, SWB,LWB etc... Break it down to the options in the ORIGINAL posting and you'll see. Look at the DETAILs.

Book Value does mean diddly either.
