Hey guys, I just installed a #11 plate along with the westach bost/egt combo. Here are a couple of questions I have.

1. My boost guage always reads 4psi with the power applied. Can I adjust/calibrate it?

2. if not, does this mean I need to subtract the 4psi from the max boost to be accurate?

3. What are the average stock boost/egt ranes for a 1995 4x4 auto with 315/75r16 tires??

The numbers I am getting from this setup is 30psi and 1300 to 1400 deg max ( the probe is pre-turbo) climbing a hill with my foot in it. and I am not really comfortable with the EGT's this high for longer than a few seconds and would like a little more boost.

I am just trying to figure out how much of an increase I received from the upgrade. I realize the #11 isn't the ideal plate for this set-up, but I got it from a friend for a great deal. Also, would this set-up benefit from a bigger turbo or plugging the wategate sense line?( full boost from the HX-35?).

Oh yeah, my muffler and resonator are MIA with a K&N filter and stock airbox.

With mine I had to adjust the gov. lever to make the 11 work. Now it jumps to 30psi and if I stay in it, it'll go to 32-33ish. I can peg the pyro without much trouble. Did it on the dyno even. This is with plate slid about 1/2 way forward. Towing, I have to baby sit the pyro gauge which keeps my speed down near where it was stock (same hill, same load). Saving for a turbo...

Did your plate come with a boost elbow?

I'm not sure why you are getting 4psi at idle, but 30 peak sounds about right with stock turbo and the #11.

My banks gauge would do that. With the light installed in it, the gauge would automatically register like 6psi. With the light out, it would zero.

I have the 215 pump, so my case will be different. I make 36psi, plate about half foward, starwheel about 7 clicks from zero tension, and the "foot" is adjusted 2 turns toward the front. My egt is reasonable. I also have the tst boost elbow, and have the allen tight.

Post Script

Thanks for all the good feedback.

I did install the TST elbow as it came from the factory. If I remove it or adjust it will the HX-35 give me any more boost? Oh, and I installed the plate in the factory position. I really tried to get the EGT's higher last night while driving and it absolutely will not go above 1350 deg no matter how much I stand on it.

I also have the light installed in my guage as per the Geno's instructions, which is to say that the light is jumpered from the power input leads on the guage, not the instrument dimmer light circuit. That could be causing the idle readings.

If you tighten the allen set screw, boost should go up.

try removing the light and see if the gauge reading changes.
