I just put my jammer 4s in yesterday, i took the nozzles down to the local diesel shop an had them float tested first, and they were way off! So the did some trading of my nozzles for some that matched a litttle better, got home put them in and when i got it fired up it idls like a big block with a high lift cam!! i need help has anyone else had this prob?? Lots of smoke, no bottom end. my current mods are 4inch pipe, airrade intake, comp box, and south bend clutch?? I know its probley time to up the air, but it still shouldnt idle this bad, an it doesnt smoothen out while im driving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try bleeding the lines... . you may have a air lock in the system, but it sounds like a bad injector or clogged tip etc.

loose boot, loose intake horn bolts, loose injector line holddown bolts in the intake, loose injector line nut, crossover tubes not lined up with injector, loose injector hold down bolt, all copper washers came out with the old injectors, bad oring on injector, bad oring on crossover tube, bad tips or installation of tips wasn't done correctly---good luck----chris

My BD xxxx155 sticks lope pretty good also. My next jump will be mach5's. Not real impressed with these BD's. My old 90hp BD sticks were awesome though.

im ganna triple check all my lines, bolts, etc... but i did get all the copper washers out, and put new ones in except for the last one(#6) an i reused that one, the injectors got all new o-rings. i double checked everything is tight an is not leaking. i tried to double check the crossover tubes by putting the line on the tube then pulling on the injector making sure it doesnt slip out, none did. One thing a few that have heard it run say is that it sounds like it has a miss, an i agree so i was leaning toward the place i had swap my nozzles but im not sure, just vary frustrated.

well I'd be leaning towards something wrong with an injector or more---pull em out and see if you can borrow some different ones and see if that does the trick then you'll know it was the injectors---chris

sounds like what mine did when i had a nozzle crack. Tons of gray black smoke and a horrible miss. I just started cracking the lines until the smoke went away and the miss didnt get any worse. Mine didnt happen until the injectors had been in for around 2 or 3 thousand miles.

Maybe the problem is your injectors should have floated. In this case I would have thought it would have been better if they sank straight away. Anyways that is how it always worked when I was in the US Navy.

Ahoy Mate, Cheerio! :)

Just being a smart alec, and I hope you get things worked out. I just put some in some M4's a couple of days ago. Currrently, I have been struggling with some weepage at the external cross over pipe connections, but hopefully I have gotten that checked.

Keith--good point---you'd think they'd've been set right, but good idea to double check---chris

Well, when he said "i took the nozzles down to the local diesel shop" I assumed that meant he bought nozzles... so who knows what the pop pressures would be when installed on his bodies.

How many holes in the tip of the nozzle? Jammers are all 8 holes... factory and most aftermarket that aren't based on Jammers are 7 holes.

Did they flow test them or pop test. A straight flow test just checks the flow rate at the tip, a pop test checks to make sure they all "pop" at the same time. Being a totally mechanical injector they will flow different amounts of fuel if they fire at different times. Jammers should not be that far off, and if they are off some you should just have to shim the injector tip to get them in spec.

On edit: Did they do the installation as wel? If so I would have the truck down there right away complaining.
