Installed my Vulcan big line kit today without any problems. Truck and pump running great. Well just my luck last night lift pump started making a loud, awful noise. It is so loud I can hear it while driving at low speeds. The pump still shows 14. 5 psi at idle but periodically drops to 0 then back up again. I guess its off to get a new pump today. ANyone else have this problem when relocating the pump?

Mine did the same thing, i thumped it with some pliers and ordered one off ebay, since then the pressures have been fine at 16psi.

Got the new pump on and everything seems to be going ok. I guess I did not notice with the pump by the motor but they sure are loud.

I can hear mine running aswell, kinda annoying but i guess that is the way it is. I wonder if spacing it from the frame with some rubber would help??

I mounted my Carter lp on the frame (still there). I have a 1/4" rubber pad, then an angle bracket bolted to the frame (the pad is between the bracket and the frame), then on the angle bracket a rubber pad on top, fender washers on the top rubber pad, then a rubber pad on the other side of the angle bracket and the lp top bolted to that sandwich.

Still was somewhat noisy. I could only hear it at stop lights though. It was a conforting sound however, as you could at least hear it.

I did not get to much of the vibrations into the frame, but the motor noise is noticable.

That was before I put the RASP in about a year ago. Mechanical pump mounted up front, no noise.

IF you do that, PLAN on the lp electrical connector which sticks out TOWARD the frame. ie the bracket needs to be longer on the part that the lp bolts to than the frame side. I think mine is 3" x 4" and I can just barely plug in the lp with it mounted to the bracket. Dielectric grease the connection, power relay triggered by the OEM lp power, and all that sort of thing.
