just ordered my mega cab tonight with the laramie pkg they tell me that now aluminum wheel now standard on laramie

Congratulations. It's a very good looking truck.

I think you'll like the Sirius radio if you try it awhile. The only time I don't listen to Sirius is when I want to listen to conservative talk radio on a local AM station.

Yep, that's what I've run into. My wife says she would rather drive the new truck than her Toyota Highlander Limited that has all the bells and whistles - it still doesn't have all the features that are on the Laramie. It's a far cry from my previous 2002 HO/6-speed SLT+ Sport dually.

Regarding Sirius, I like variety, On FM I like to listed to modern upbeat country, Christian Alt Stations (Air1), local Hard Rock Station and just plan Top 40. Anything but Rap,Jazz, Opera,etc...

Sirius, the 3 Christian stations suck, the 3 country stations I'm not impressed with, and the million rock/pop/alt music stations I'm just not to impressed, its like they are all each to small piece of a pie. I like some variety, not 100% headbanger music, or 100% Classic Alt Rock. Hopefully I'll figure it out. I'm only up to 160 miles after getting to work this morning.

AM radio?
Really?
I've talked about you showing your age before. Next thing we know, you're going to be talking about when the 'talkies' came out!

Perhaps you have heard of Rush Limbaugh, a fellow who has tens of millions of listeners and is considered by many the leader of the conservative movement?

I think you are going to like EVERYTHING, with the exception of the FUEL MILEAGE! MIne is only getting 13-14 MPG in town, and 9-10 towing! A far cry from my 03'! Will be looking for a DPF DELETE soon!

Yep, kind of knew it would be lower, just a matter of how much. Its at 12. 4mpg right now with about 160 miles of intown with short freeway trips. I'll see what happens Saturday on a longer out of the area trip and Sunday when I tow. (towing once I get to 500 miles).

Speaking of mileage, I bought the truck to tow trailers and haul a slide in camper (weekly basis almost). I still need the truck for my 6 miles each way work commute and running around town. Luckily for us my wife has a hybrid so we average out okay:) And she does much more driving during the week then I do, I pretty much just drive to the office, the gym, hardware stores, and church, besides weekend fun.

I'm saving for $5 diesel for our summer trips... it will suck money, but we're still going. Got to live life and ride the quads, the RZR and go camping. I am not going to just sit at home.

leader of the conservative movement? I thought he was the leader of the Bowel movement:-laf:-laf:-laf

Very nice truck. My key fob does have a key in the bottom of the fob so you do not have to carry the (hard) key for the tailgate. There is a slide button on the bottom of the fob which will release the (spare) key.

I only carry the fob.

Yep, I agree. I too don't care for satellite radio, FM, or AM radio. I play what I want from my CDs/DVDs that I have recorded. I'm not up to the i-pod level... yet. :-laf

Perhaps you have heard of Rush Limbaugh,...
I have heard of him.
I work on a submarine where the majority of people are fairly young, myself included. It becomes part of our nature to take cracks at each other. It's almost a reflex.
I used to listen to an AM station, about 8 years ago, that was a 60's to 80's country station, in my 84 F-250.
I've been accused of being older than I am, most of my life.

JHumphries,

I know a little about submarines and submarine crews. I spent 28 1/2 years in the Navy. Much of my time was spent in the submarine force. Halfbeak SS-352, George C. Marshall SSBN-654, and McKee AS-41.

First fill up today. At lunch today, Mile 329 filled up with 29. 41 gallons at 3. 43/gallon for $ 100. 87 total. 11. 1 MPG, which matches the Economy gauge report perfectly.

Note when I picked the truck up it had 15 miles on it and the fuel gauge was reading past the full mark. Don't know if they topped it off or not. I always top off and was able to add a few more bucks today.

Miles are mixed, one 80 mile round trip on backroads from Keizer to Newberg, mostly in town Salem/Keizer area with some 5 mile runs on the freeway. 30 miles of the tank I was pulling an enclosed trailer that weighs about 8k pounds.

My old 2005 Ram 3500 Dually 4*4 Laramie with 3. 73 doing the same mix of driving always seemed to get 15ish. I could get 20 on a highway run not towing and running empty close to the speedlimit (OR is 65).

2011 3500 6. 7 Ram Dually 4*4 Laramie 4. 10 gears.

I don't think the ISB6. 7 will ever achieve the same fuel economy as the 5. 9 did with greater displacement and more emissions crap on the 6. 7 but your engine will loosen up and do a lot better than that after several thousand miles.

My C&C is heavier than a dually pickup and probably delivers an average of 14mpg. I occasionally see much better than that on the overhead but realistically, 14 is probably about right for all miles driven without towing.

Yep first fill up, many more to go, love the truck I usually don't worry to much about mileage but everyone seems to ask.
