Just ordered leveling kit today. Oo.

I ordered up D25 Skyjacker springs w/ lower Control arms and extended bumpstops. I ordered it all from Jack-It. Also called DT and ordered an adjustable Trac bar.

I got these based on all that I've read here in the TDR. Thanx People!

Was there anything I missed???

Now I just have to order up the wheels I want. I'm leaning towards the Eagle 17X9 101's or 102's. I havent made up my mind. I want to run the 315/70 r17's and I can't find a forged 17X9 anywhere. :( and thats not $500 each

I may just settle for the Cast wheel for now till better sizes come out.

I'll post the results. Again - anything I missed?

You have made wise choices, grasshopper. You will be very pleased with the new coils, control arms and the DT track bar. Did you also go with a dual front shock setup, or do you already have better than OEM shocks? I have the full 2 1/2" Skyjacker lift, which includes the D25 coils and all 4 new, fully adjustable control arms and dual front shocks. I am using the SJ shocks, as a year ago when I had my lift installed Bilstein didn't have extended shocks for our [lifted] trucks out yet.

Anyway, the SJ kit came with the wrong lower mount for the second front shock, so for a couple weeks I had only one front SJ shock on each side, and the ride was noticeably harsher than with the OEM front shocks, and when the correct brackets arrived and I was able to install the second front shock on each side, the ride went to much smoother than stock.

Thank you Master san. ;)

I opted out of the dual front shock setup. I've gone back and forth on the subject and am not sure if I made the right decision.

The main reason why I didn't get it is because I ordered the new extended Bilstiens with the leveling kit. (sorry, forgot to mention that. ) I think the Bilstiens will hold up. However I may add the dual shock bracket If I think it's needed. Is it easy to install or do I have to remove the springs to get at it?

Also, Should I get the new upper control arms? My kit (I believe) comes w/ only new lower control arms.

Ditto what Tom said...

I ran both single and dual shocks up front. The Bilstein 5100s for the front were a little soft by themselves. The second shock hit the "sweet spot" for front end damping imo.

For control arms, the top arm is the same length, but the lower is a little longer for lifted front ends to put the axle back where it belongs.

If your wallet can take the hit, the replacement rear leaf springs from Skyjacker get rid of the 5" factory lift block which gets rid of the chronic rear wheel hop and smooths the ride greatly.

Hmmm, not entirely sure. I had the kit and DT track bar installed at a local shop, as I didn't have the tools or desire to tackle something like all this on my own. The lower second front shock mount is a 1 minute thing, the top dual shock bracket might be a chore though, since if I recall correctly, it actually replaces the OEM top shock mount and I think you would need to take the weight of the truck off the coil springs to change this out...

If you go with the dual shock set up I recommend Fab-tech. Their set up is much better than the Skyjacker.

If you're going the rear spring route give National Spring a call before you buy. Great guys. . great product.
