Went to TEC Equipment here in Portland today and got my 22. 5's ordered for my 07 DRW CTD w/G56. Santa has been good to me!!! :-laf

As some of you guys hate the big wheels... I expect some feedback and thats OK also. I have done allot of research on the pros and cons and for my application the PROs win. :D

If anyone would like to give me personal accounts of yourself or friends that have done this conversion I would love to hear them. Good or Bad as I am openminded.

If you are interested I am selling my 22. 5 with Yokohama tires you can see some pics in readers rigs under my name and if interested I will sell complete set with adapters all six rims are aluminum and the rear rims have been shaved by 3/8" each so they dont stick out cheaper than you can get 4 alum. with steel inners, let me know.

I am selling due to the gearing change with a 36. 5 tall tire and 3. 73 gears and trying to to my 30' 5er up the mountains, it towed alright with the wheels just not as good as the stockers

Hi Daytripper, truck looks great with your wheels on it. I can understand your dilema with the increased gearing and a heavy 5ver.

What are you liking to see out of the setup for everything? I am sure you might have kept your originals but I also have mine that only have 500 miles on them and will be available once I get my 22. 5s. I carry a Arctic Fox 06' 990 camper along with a 24' Cougar MTR tunnel and my want for the bigger wheels and stronger side walls is because of this reason. Plus I like the looks!!!! Please let me know and maybe we could help each other out. Thanks Anthony.

How do you handle the extra

rolling mass and the front braking issue??? THis is a huge difference and will probably play heck on the front brakes... ...

Do any of yall want to sell your wheels? I had some 19. 5's before and did not really like them. I would love some 22. 5's on my '03. PM me Daytripper if you are still selling yours and let me know the specifics...

I did notice a brakeing difference but I mostly use my exhaust brake so not that big of an issue although when towing I did notice the exhaust brake did not slow me down as well with the 22. 5 wheels but still helped

I would be allot more concerned with the front brakes if my truck were a Auto but seeing that its a Six speed and I will be putting 15" upgraded discs as well as calipers I am not as concerned. I will also be putting dual steering stabilizers in line on the front.

My 05' 3500 SRW 4x4 with a 48re I ran 22" chrome Akuza bounces with 37" toyo MT on stock brakes for 30K miles with a 4,000LB Arctic Fox and my 24' Cougar MTR with a combined weight all together of just over 19K LBs and they did great. Now I am not going to say they stopped as well as stock but I was very impressed with the stock 13" brakes.

Now that I can use the gears to slow the mass as well my brakes I will be much happier on those steep grades.

What did you not like about the 19. 5's?

I did not get much better tread life out of the 19. 5's than the stock 16's. I sold the 19. 5's and converted the truck to DRW and installed a flatbed. Treadlife is much better now. Upgrading to a dual wheel setup is what I needed. I think 19. 5's or 22. 5's would last better with the DRW setup over the 2500 setup I originally had.

Right on Dieselnut... way to be different! :D I thought about the 19. 5 direct bolt ons but knowing myself I would have wished I went with the 22. 5s. Bigger, taller, louder, faster is always my instinctual nature... been that way all my life, and around it all my life.

Guess my Ego needs stroking every once in awhile!!! :-laf
