Just ordered my 5" stacks! Install question...New pics posted!

Do you have to run a short flexible section of exhaust somewhere to account for flexing between the bed and the frame?

BTW, I ordered the 5" miter cut stack kit from PowerbyPoole

Hope to get it installed by this weekend. Pics will follow.

I would put a piece of flex pipe in. All of the systems I have seen use flex pipe. If you need a piece of 4" flex pipe and you are going to be near Lincoln sometime, I have some.

You should use a 1' piece of flex between your exhaust system and the 90 deg. elbow that runs up to your stacks.

Thanks for the responses, I just found out the kit comes with everything I need, a flexible section and a reducer to match up to my current 4" exhaust.

Can't wait to get them installed!

Finally got some pics!

Lets see if this works...

Pics should follow:

I was disappointed when I found out the kit only goes to 5" after it's in the bed. I went ahead and installed it as is, but I plan on removing the y pipe and cutting the 4" off and replacing with 5" (90 elbow, flex tube, etc). Also plan to paint it black up to the start of the stack itself. I am going to lower the y-pipe down 3" or so as well so the stacks don't sit quite as high as they are now.

BTW, the miter cuts were backordered so I got some used turnouts locally to use for a while.

Sounds excellent, it is deeper and slightly louder than the 4" straight pipe.

The kit that you got from Power by Poole looks like the Grand Rock kit. If it is infact a Grand Rock kit... it comes with everything that you will need to install it. . Also install it like the instructions say and you will be fine.

Pictures of my Grand Rock kit that I changed a little for my truck should be in my gallery... .

I also dropped my Y pipe down. The crossover pipe's are just off the bottom of the box. I had to cut the hole in the box alot larger but I like the stack's down lower. By the way, Your's look's great.

It is infact the GrandRock kit, I already got it installed. I just followed up the post with some pics so everyone can see what it looks like.
