2004, Atlantic Blue, 2WD, 2500 Laramie.

Man! I love this truck! Needed something to drive daily to the office, haul the 4 pooches, and tow the racecar to events 2-3 times a month. The package rocks!

This truck was special ordered for someone with the single CD/Cassette radio, and I really want the 6-disc in-dash, please let me know if you want to trade!

I look forward to picking up all the tips for hotrodding my new pride and joy from the forum.

Congrats on the new truck!! Looks great!! I recently removed my factory stereo (w/6 disc changer) to install my custom system. I'm thinking that I might sell the system. I've received a few offers, but I'm still riding the fence on whether to sell or not. Send me a PM if you'd like me to stay in touch if I decide to sell.

Awsome !!! Sure wish I knew I could get by with a 2WD, I woud have ordered one, but feel that the safety factor of 4WD towing our 5er is too big of an issue to ignore.

I hear ya

I went back and forth with 2wd and 4wdw on both the Dodge and Ford. Decided that since I had to have the 2500, and it was going to be a daily driver (sometimes with clients) the 2wd was a better choice for me.

Plus, I'm in NorCal where it never snows and the most I'd likely ever tow would be a 2 car open trailer with 2 sub-3000lb cars on it and some gear. I also didn't want the extra wear and tear associated with 4wd front ends if I could avoid it.

I must say, though, that I am DYING to tow something!

Nice truck ELind! I'm partial to shortbed 4x2 Rams, I've owned two of them and haven't regretted it, and they've gotten me by just fine for the amount of miles I drive in snow (not a lot). I like the lower stance and the fact I can cruise in the high 70s and still get 20+ MPG.

That Atlantic Blue looks real nice on that truck, maybe it's 'cause I like the chrome strips :) You can see mine on Readers' Rigs

Ahhh!

Atlantic Blue was my wife's pic, and I have to say that since it was the only 2wd ShortBox within driving distance, I am glad it turned out to look as great as it does!

As for the leaves... well a lot of wind and some COLD (40 degrees, haha) blew them away!

Sweet boat BTW! I still own a 35 Sonic with HP500's, Gil Exhaust, etc back on the Chesapeake, man I miss that boat! Hopefully with the economy coming back a little I can find a new home for her in the spring.

I too constantly sing the virtues of 2WD, and my concern is also related to cost of keeping a high mileage 4WD truck going-but a lot of people trade before 100K, so they don't have to foot $$$$ 4WD repair costs. The truck I have on order is the even rarer 3500 SWB QC 2WD-I have not seen another one-they are out there, but mostly 4WD. And it seems that most 3500's are LWB.

That's what I have :) There's a couple among the TDR members. Even more rare than that Evan A. Beck has a 2wd longbed regular cab Graphite Sport. Looks way  but I need all 4 doors.

I'm up for a ride in the Sonic when she moves out west! You sure don't see very many of them out here. They are sweet boats. I'm partial to the 35 too, they look the nicest, I think.

Don't spend all your money on the truck, save a few pennies for the boat movement westward!!

It's been 3 years now, my good friend back home has been renting it each season, he is a Mercruiser mechanic and super anal, so its always in perfect tune when I go back for visits. The problem with moving it here is there really is no "good" water to run it on. The san fran bay and coastline is cool, but no swimming and precious few dock bars or day trip locations. The Delta is fun, but a 35 is too big, need a 25-27 single out there, and then you are dodging water skiers all day.

Then there is storage and fuel costs..... That's why I started racing cars again! We shall see!
