I’m sorry if my earlier post came across wrong, that wasn’t the intent. All I was trying to say is a good title to your thread and keeping it on topic is great for all those involved, many many of which will never post in the thread. Forums are a treasure trove of information and the best way to index it all starts with the OP of each thread. A good title goes a long way. I hate to see any information lost, no matter how trivial it may seem. If I didn’t care, I’d join FB and “let it all go.”
I get it, in the short term yes the title goes a long way and we all appricate that.
The indexing part is all key phrases and the algorithm has changed anymore and the way the search engines work is very calculated anymore, there are certain ways to do the articles and indexing.
It does run a little different here as you can't go back and correct or delete your posts, probably good reasons for that, then the 1 year time limit on updates, I have a few older threads I would like to add too, but my procrastination got the best of me and a year goes fast. I would have to start from scratch on some of my 47RE stuff so I just gave up, for the 99.99% no one would ever go back and edit these posts. I also do feel if I asked they would try to reopen that thread if I asked nicely.
Short term good titles benefit all, long term I find I always have to sort thru alot of wreckage and dead ends.
Knowing a post has a conclusion and verified fix before I read pages of banter, now were on to something.
But a catch all thread for someone to start off posting is not so bad gets your feet wet and the sort.
I just don't want to discourage posting at all, the information will be available later for those who need it.
All good stuff..... never thought anyone was heading negative on this one.
