Hey, DIESELMAN.
I don't mean to change the direction of this thread but, I, also, have an '03, 3500 swr, HO, 6-sp, with an AFE, PG-7 air intake and a Magnaflow exhaust.
On Sunday, Jan. 8, '05, I drove up to Flagstaff to see the snow. I noticed, while driving around town, that, when starting out from the stoplight, the engine would sound like an older Cummins between about 800-1000 rpms. Then, it seemed like the "pilot injection" would kick in and the engine would quiet down. I've, also, noticed this while camping in the White Mtns. at about the 9200' elevation.
Do you notice this occuring in your truck/trucks? Do you know what's causing this and if it's a serious problem that needs to be corrected?
Flagstaff sure was pretty with all the snow. But, then it's pretty nice anytime!
I noticed diesel prices were quite reasonable at the Little America $1. 78/9. Some of the other stations, in town, were a lot more expensive, though.
Well, thanks for your input, DIESELMAN, and my apologies for trying to "hijack" this thread.
